Retatrutide (Retatrutide (Triple Agonist GIP/GLP-1/Glucagon))

Category: Weight Management. Status: Phase 3 Clinical Trial.

A novel triple hormone receptor agonist targeting GIP, GLP-1, and glucagon receptors. Phase 2 shows unprecedented 24% body weight loss at 48 weeks.

How it works

Triple agonism creates synergistic metabolic effects. Glucagon activation increases energy expenditure and hepatic fat oxidation while GLP-1/GIP reduce appetite and improve insulin sensitivity.

  • hrv_nerd rated it 4/5 - Works great but watch your heart rate: Flagging what the hype threads skip: my resting HR went from low 60s to high 70s once I hit 4mg. Bought a cheap oximeter and I keep an eye on it. Nobody prescribed this so I am self-monitoring, which I know is not ideal. Weight loss has been excellent, 18% down at month 6 with zero stalling, but track your HR and do not just chase the dose.
  • quiet_optimizer rated it 4/5 - Honestly almost too strong: At 4mg I was barely eating 800 calories a day without trying and dropped weight scary fast, 22 lbs in 7 weeks. Felt lightheaded and my energy tanked, so I dialed back to 2mg and held. Also got this weird tingling/buzzing on my arms that comes and goes. Not saying do not do it, the appetite control is unreal, just respect the titration and do not race to 12mg.
  • coastal_cutting rated it 5/5 - The food noise just goes quiet: Three weeks in at 2mg and the thing nobody prepares you for is how quiet your head gets. That constant "what am I snacking on next" loop is gone. Down about 9 lbs so far but honestly the mental peace beats the scale. Only real downside is the fatigue the first few days after I inject, I write off Sundays. Evening shots helped the nausea a lot.
  • former_tirz rated it 5/5 - Stronger than tirzepatide for me: Ran tirz last year, reta is another level on appetite. I have to remind myself to eat lunch now, which is wild for me. Nausea was manageable if I avoided greasy food the first day after the shot. About 12% down over 10 weeks and still going. Titrate slow and it is very tolerable.
  • desk_job_dan rated it 5/5 - First month humbling, then it clicks: Started at 1mg thinking I would breeze through and got hit with nausea and dead-tired fatigue for about 4 days after each shot. Held a full 4 weeks before bumping like the sub says. By week 6 my body adjusted and the sides faded. Down about 6% so far. Constipation is the ongoing annoyance, I force fiber and water. Appetite suppression is very real.
  • calm_macros rated it 5/5 - Mental peace worth more than the scale: I have fought food obsession my whole life and within two weeks that mental chatter just switched off. Down 9 lbs but I would run it for the head-quiet alone. Mild nausea, a little constipation, nothing I could not manage with water and fiber. Start low, hold each dose, do not rush it.
