Tracking my retatrutide titration – weight, appetite and HRV notes so far

5 mg once weekly three weeks ago because I wanted to see how the triple agonist affected my appetite and energy expenditure. As a lab tech I’m used to logging numbers so I’ve been weighing myself every morning, tracking my Oura HRV and noting any GI feelings. The first week I felt a bit queasy after the injection but it passed by day two.
My appetite dropped noticeably – I’m eating smaller portions without forcing it and I haven’t had the usual afternoon cravings. 5 lbs so far, which lines up with the early loss range mentioned in the reference. HRV has crept up a couple of points each night, though I know that could just be from better sleep or less late‑night snacking.
I’m planning to go to 1 mg next week and keep logging. I’ll get a basic metabolic panel before the next dose increase just to be safe. Would love to hear if anyone else is seeing similar HRV shifts while titrating. Talk to your doc before making any changes.

- jordan_v: Wait, did you mean you are going to 1 mg next week? That would be a massive drop from 5 mg. I suspect you meant 6 mg, but you should double check your math before you pin... Anecdotally, I noticed something similar with my HRV when I tried a triple agonist. It seemed to stabilize my sleep, which probably helped the numbers, but I also wondered if it was just because I stopped eating heavy meals right before bed. I think getting that metabolic panel is a smart move. It is easy to ignore the int
- nina_trailrun: ngl, the RHR increase is what actually worries me? I felt my heart racing a bit when I tried something similar, and I could not tell if it was the compound or just the caffeine. Did you see a spike in your resting heart rate too? Or was it just the HRV change?
- amber464: I didn’t see a resting heart rate spike – my Oura kept it steady around 58 bpm the whole time, just the HRV crept up a point or two each night. Did you note caffeine when you felt the racing?
- amber464: I meant to go up to 6 mg next week, not down to 1 mg – sorry for the typo. I’ll double‑check the syringe before I pin. My resting heart rate has dipped about 3 bpm on average since week 1, which lines up with the HRV creep. Thanks for the panel reminder, I’ll draw blood Thursday. Have you seen any RHR change on your triple agonist run?
