TB-500 (Thymosin Beta-4 (Synthetic))

Category: Healing & Recovery. Status: Research compound.

A synthetic version of thymosin beta-4, a naturally occurring 43-amino acid peptide that promotes cell migration, blood vessel growth, and reduces inflammation. Widely researched for tissue repair and regeneration.

How it works

Upregulates actin production to promote cell migration and proliferation, enhances angiogenesis, and reduces pro-inflammatory cytokines.

Key facts

  • Molecular weight: 4921 Da
  • Half-life: ~6 hours
  • Bioavailability: ~95% via subcutaneous injection
  • Storage: Lyophilized: -20°C long term. Reconstituted: 2-8°C for up to 14 days.

Dosing overview

  • Typical dose: 2-5 mg per dose
  • Frequency: Loading: 2x/week · Maintenance: 1x/week
  • Duration: 4-8 week loading, then maintenance
  • Route: Subcutaneous injection

Protocol notes

  • Loading phase: ~2-5 mg twice weekly for 4-6 weeks to build tissue levels.
  • Maintenance phase: 2-5 mg once weekly (or every other week) to hold results.
  • Frequently stacked with BPC-157 for synergistic soft-tissue recovery.

Reported benefits

  • Enhanced wound healing
  • Reduced inflammation
  • Improved flexibility
  • Cardiac tissue repair
  • Hair regrowth support

Possible side effects

  • Headache
  • Injection site redness
  • Temporary lethargy
  • Head rush

Research

  • Thymosin beta-4 promotes angiogenesis and wound healing (2020): Accelerated dermal wound closure and improved vascularization in animal models.
  • TB-500 effects on cardiac repair post-MI (2018): Reduced infarct size and improved cardiac function following myocardial infarction in mice.

  • paddles_ivan rated it 5/5 - Flexibility and less beat up overall: Where TB shines for me is flexibility and that general "my body feels less wrecked" sense. Ran a loading phase then maintenance for a couple months. Modest but real, and the whole-body coverage is the selling point. Injection sites were fine, one head-rush early. Patient people will get more out of it.
  • gains_kyle rated it 4/5 - Real but understated recovery boost: Recovery boost was real but understated, less soreness between sessions and slightly better mobility. Got a mild injection-site reaction a couple times. On its own it is easy to write off as placebo, stacked with BPC it made more sense to me. Worth it if you go in expecting subtle.
  • trains_diego rated it 5/5 - The systemic angle earned its keep: Jiu-jitsu, so I have injuries everywhere and a whole-body peptide made more sense than pinning ten spots. Six weeks in, mobility is up and the constant low-grade aches quieted down. It is not dramatic and I get why people call it placebo, but for spread-out wear and tear it worked for me where local stuff did not.
  • zone2_owen rated it 5/5 - Subtle, but my mornings changed: TB-500 is the definition of subtle. Ran 5mg a week loading for a month for chronic hip and lower-back stiffness. No aha moment, but by the end my morning range of motion was clearly better and I stopped constantly cracking my back. If you want something you feel day to day this is not it, it is a slow quiet improvement.
  • restless_kim rated it 4/5 - Watch for the head rush: Nobody warned me, for the first week I would get lightheaded for a minute or two after injecting, plus some general lethargy. It faded. Effects on my knee were real but modest. Would I run it alone again? Probably not. Stacked with BPC, maybe. It is a subtle, systemic thing more than a targeted fix.
  • former_scott rated it 5/5 - Nagging injuries calmed down: Ran TB for a set of nagging injuries that never fully cleared. Over the six weeks my range of motion improved and the aches settled. It is the systemic partner to BPC for me, not a standalone star, but in that role it pulled its weight. Slow, cumulative, quietly effective.
