Community reviews of PT-141 (Bremelanotide)

Rated 3.6 out of 5 from 14 community reviews by ResearchSafe members.

  • coastal_paddles rated it 3/5 - Good boost, but only when I was actually in the mood: I tried PT-141 over about 4 months because life got busy here in the Midwest, between sales calls, long drives, and not exactly feeling sexy after a full day on my feet. The first few times, it did seem to turn the volume up on desire. Not dramatically, just enough to notice. For me it was inconsistent, and a couple times I got a weird flushed, headachy feeling. Mixed bag. Probably a 3 out of 5.
  • runner_kai rated it 5/5 - actually wanted to initiate again, 6 weeks in: the one thing that mattered, my libido went from "meh, maybe" to actually initiating things myself for the first time in years. that shift alone is why this is a 5 for me. nausea the first couple doses was rough but faded fast. worth the trade for me.
  • formerjosh rated it 4/5 - Strong urge, but less clean than tadalafil: I tried PT-141 for about 4 months while juggling clinic work and training in Japan. It did increase desire for me, a bit faster than I expected, but I still preferred tadalafil for the overall feel. PT-141 had more nausea and a strange flush, so I kept it as occasional use.
  • tracker_jade rated it 5/5 - PT-141 helped, but the flushing was real: I tried PT-141 for about 8 weeks because my sex drive had taken a nosedive while I was working long school days, lifting after work, and generally being tired in the Midwest winter. For me, it did kick things back on in a way I noticed pretty fast. That part was honestly great. The downside was the flushing and weird pressure in my face, plus a little nausea the first couple times. It always settled down, but it was annoying enough that I had to plan around it. Still, anecdotally, the payoff was strong enough that I kept using it and would rate it 5 stars.
  • medic_derek rated it 3/5 - Helped me get out of my own head a bit: I tried PT-141 after work in NZ because I was knackered, teaching all day and training most evenings, and my libido had gone a bit flat. Over about four months it did seem to flip the switch some nights, but it was patchy and a bit too headachy for me, so 3/5.
  • vo2max_nof1 rated it 4/5 - Helped the spark, but the headache was real: I tried PT-141 for about 4 months while juggling Midwest winter training, work, and being a 50-something powerlifter who still wants his head in the game. It definitely nudged desire up for me, but the headache and that weird flushed, almost hangover-ish feeling after were the price. Still, I kept it around.
