Stanozolol Research Guide
Full name: Stanozolol (Winstrol)
A DHT-derived anabolic steroid (Winstrol) available in oral and injectable forms, historically prescribed for hereditary angioedema and anemia and widely known in athletics for lean, dry gains. Educational reference only.
How Stanozolol Works
Stanozolol is a 17-alpha-alkylated DHT derivative that is orally active and resists aromatization. It has a relatively high anabolic-to-androgenic ratio and lowers sex-hormone-binding globulin (SHBG), increasing free hormone levels.
Dosing Protocol
- Typical dose: Medical: variable for angioedema
- Frequency: Daily (oral)
- Duration: Short courses
- Route: Oral tablet or aqueous injection
Reported Benefits
- Lean, dry strength gains
- No water retention
- Lowers SHBG (more free hormone)
- Treats hereditary angioedema (medical)
Potential Side Effects
- Liver toxicity (oral)
- Adverse lipids/cardiovascular strain
- Joint dryness/pain
- Androgenic hair loss
- Testosterone suppression
