GlyNAC: Have I Noticed a Boost in Energy and Sleep?

I started GlyNAC last month after reading a paper about it boosting glutathione and reversing some ageing markers in older folks. I’m 42, not a big athlete but I do a decent push‑ups set each morning and I took about 7 g glycine plus 7 g NAC split into two doses, once Alm and once PM. I didn’t notice any major tummy upset, just the usual mild sulphur odour when I first mixed it.

After about two weeks I felt a bit more alert in the afternoon and my sleep seemed deeper – I woke up early and didn’t feel the grogginess that used to hit me after a dinner. I’ve been keeping a small log; no big changes in blood sugars yet but the first few readings on my glucometer were a touch lower. Overall I’m pleased – no serious headaches or stomach pains, and the loose stools I had at the very start went away. Of course I’ll keep an eye on my liver enzymes and maybe run a GSH test once a month to see how it’s playing out.

I went 8 g glycine and 8 g NAC, split AM/PM, and didn’t see any stomach upset after the first week. The sulfur smell was mild. About a week in I felt a little more alert after lunch, and my nights ended up being a whole lot more restful, no weird groggy wakes. I keep an eye on my liver panel every 3‑4 months and a spot GSH test once a year. Any ideas on how to pick a ‑of‑care test? IMO,

I’ve been using the same 7 g split dose and keep a simple log, but for an at‑home GSH test I’ve gone with the RapidGSH kit – a finger‑prick strip that gives a total GSH/total antioxidant capacity readout in under 10 min. It’s cheap, no lab run‑in, and I check it every two weeks. Do you monitor any methylation markers along with the liver panel?
