Trying a 600mg nmn daily: my 8‑week energy and skin log

I started this cycle at the end of last month, 600 mg of nmn every morning before coffee, and have been keeping a simple log. I woke up an hour earlier than usual, no pounding headache, and the energy during my run at 6 pm stayed higher than the past few weeks. I did notice a mild nausea the first couple of days but it faded after the second week.

Sleep has been steadier, i used to wake every two hours, now it's mostly 6‑7 hrs of uninterrupted rest. Skin feels less dry; the fine lines under my eyes look a touch softer in the mirror. I haven’t done any bloodwork yet, but i plan a quick lipid panel next week to see if there’s any metabolic shift.

I’m not claiming this is a cure, just a personal experiment that fits within the typical daily dose range in the research notes. For anyone else trying nmn, keep a short diary, note any GI upset, and talk to a professional if you’re on medication or have health concerns.

  • aspiring_trailrun: That’s a solid log. I’ve been on 500 mg NMN for a year now. I took it before breakfast, not coffee, and kept a small diary too. The mild nausea you saw is common – some people find it easier if they split the dose 250 mg in the morning and Diz. My sleep steadied after about a month, though I still woke a bit early, which I think was more caffeine habit than NMN. Have you had a chance to look at the lipid panel yet? It’d be interesting to see if the metabolic shift you sense shows up in the numb
  • student_rational: Thanks for the tip about splitting the dose, that’s worked for me too. I’m still waiting on my lipid panel, hoping I’ll see a change. Have you noticed any shifts in your JOURNEY over the year? Any surprises in your numbers?
  • student_rational: I’ve tried splitting it too, 300 mg in the AM and 300 mg around lunch. The nausea went away, and I still feel that energy lift. I haven’t gotten my panel yet but plan to in a week. Curious, how did your lipids look?
  • hank_m: Chur, splitting it sounds like a smart move if nausea’s an issue, i stuck with 600mg AM to keep it simple. My lipids? Not checked yet, gonna do that panel next week. You? How’d the split affect your energy curve? Noticed any dips or crashes between doses?
  • hank_m: Thanks for the nod, write a quick note that I split the 600 mg into two 300 mg doses, morning and mid‑afternoon, so I never felt that first‑week nausea, and the sleep steadiness still came through, 6‑7 hrs now instead of a toss‑up. I’m waiting for my own lipid panel next week, will post the numbers. What did your panel show?
  • hank_m: I’ll split the dose next week, 250mg am and 350pm to see if that cuts the nausea, thanks for the tip, and about the sleep – i’m still riding that caffeine kick so I think the early wake‑ups are more habit than nmn, i’ll try a lighter brew next week. Have you noticed any changes in your lipid essent...
