GHK‑Cu topical vs injectable: my 6 week skin firming experiment

I've started using GHK‑Cu for about six weeks now and it's been a bit of a mixed bag. I picked up the 1‑mg topical serum at the local pharmacy and tried it 2× daily, then switched to a 200‑mcg injectable once a week after reading that the 3×/week doses are standard for body‑wide effects. I didn't see any irritation with the serum, but the injection gave a tiny bruise every time – not a big deal, but a reminder that i'm dealing with a real peptide, not just a fancy cream.

After the first month i noticed a subtle tightening around my jaw and a more even tone under my eyes, probably the collagen up‑regulation that the literature talks about. The skin still looks a bit dull on days I skip a dose, though. I kept the serum on my neck and chest too, which felt good.

Overall, the injectable seems to push collagen where the serum can't quite reach, but the serum is easier to use and less messy. I’m still watching for any itching or redness, but so far i’ve had none. Tbh, it’s a small win on the skin front and maybe a bit of a mood booster knowing I'm doing something that has a plausible mechanism.

  • ivy_mobility: I’ve dabbled with GHK‑Cu injections too – 100 µg once a week, subcutaneous – and the bruising is normal. I noted a slight lift in my crow‑lines after about 6 weeks and kept a before‑and‑after photo log; the skin surface was visibly tighter, although the colour stayed a touch dull until I maintained the daily serum. I didn’t see_CENTER redness, but I keep an eye on copper status, just to be safe. Have you tried tying in a brief caliper‑measure of skin thickness? It’s useful to see the collagen c
  • student_rational: I’ve done the same switch once. With the 1‑mg cream it took about two months before the skin tone evened out, and I still noticed a bit of dullness on a day[first] when I missed a dose. When I moved to a 200‑µg injection, the punch of change was quicker, my jawline felt tighter after the first week, and the loss of that dry‑looking patch under my eyes went away more consistently. I did get the tiny bruises you mentioned, but that’s the price of having the peptide penetrate deeper. For me, the c
  • student_rational: I haven’t done caliper measurements yet, but that makes sense. I’d probably need to get the right tool and a consistent spot. Do you find the readings differ much from the visual changes, or are they basically confirming the same?
  • student_rational: I haven’t tried a caliper yet, but that sounds useful. I usually just track the look and feel – the jaw tightening was the only thing I could reliably notice. If the numbers line up with the visual lift, that would be a nice objective check. Have any of you got a skin stretch meter?
  • greg208: Not going to lie, I’ve had the same bruise thing with the 200‑µg shots. For me the injection really kicked in faster – jawline felt tighter after week 2 and the dark patch under the eyes was gone if I didn’t skip a dose. I still use the cream for the days I skip the shot to keep the skin hydrated. Do you find the daily cream makes a difference when you resume after a break?
  • hank_m: Bruises hit me too, tiny the first couple times, then smaller, something about the needle angle. I noticed the tightening felt stronger after the second week, kinda like you said, and the under‑eye glow did fade when i kept it regular, but after a week off the shot the skin went dull again though the cream helped hold moisture. Did you notice any difference in how the serum feels on the skin after a break from the injections?
  • hank_m: Thanks for the tip, student_rational, i’ve never actually bought a caliper yet – i just snap a photo every fortnight and slide it into a simple graph to see if the jaw line looks tighter, but that was a bit subjective. I did try a free app that measures the distance between two facial points on the phone screenshot; the numbers haven’t changed that much, but the visual lift does. I’ll give the caliper idea a shot this month and see if the math backs up the feel.
  • hank_m: Brandt, i did do a quick caliper check on week‑3 and week‑6, only for my own curiosity, and the numbers were in the 0.45‑0.54mm range – a 10‑15% bump from baseline which lines up with what I visually saw, though the skin still feels a touch drier on skip‑days, so the eyeball check was a bit more dramatic. The real difference was that the caliper was consistent, but my eye noticed the jawline lift earlier, so I’d keep both and maybe add a laser profiler next round.
  • hank_m: Wow, thanks for that, student_rational, i can see we’re on the same page with the bruises and the quick tightening you mentioned – i felt a subtle shift around my jaw after about the first injection military, but it didn’t jump as fast as yours did, maybe my site was a bit off or the needle angle was different, i’ll try a different spot next week just to see if that speeds it up. Also curious, you used a 200‑µg dose once a week – do you find it stays better under the skin than the 3×/week route?
  • hank_m: Tbh the bruising feels normal, just like you said, and i’ll keep an eye on it with a ruler to see how it changes, but i didn’t notice any redness either, so that’s good news. I’m curious about the copper test – i’ve never checked that, do you find it useful at all or just a precaution? I’ll try a caliper next week and maybe share the numbers if it shows anything.
