Synapsin nasal spray gives me nosebleeds – is it safe long‑term?

I started using the Synapsin nasal spray (Rg3 + NAD+ + methylcobalamin) about three weeks ago. The first few days were fine, except I got a mild headache and a pinch of irritation in the nose that went away with the next spray. After a couple of weeks I had a small nosebleed after the second spray of the day – it wasn’t severe but it was annoying.

I lifted the dose from 2 sprays per nostril twice daily to one spray per nostril twice daily and the bleeding stopped. I still get a little dryness and a taste change after each spray, and sometimes my nose feels congested. I’m not sure if the nasal irritation is a normal side effect or a warning sign for longer use.

Has anyone else had the same issue? What do you do to monitor or mitigate it? Would you suggest any changes in technique, dose, or a different delivery method?

  • hank_m: Tbh the dryness I feel after every spray sounds familiar – I got the same thing when I first tried a nasal BPC‑157 mix. A little saline rinse between sprays usually eases the irritation, and switching to a single dose per day like you did can make a big difference. I’ve found keeping the spray bottle at room temp helps reduce the burning that can trigger a bleed. Do you notice any changes in your sense of taste or if the smell lingers longer? If the bleed or congestion keeps up, maybe a quick c
  • sarah_c: Thanks for the tip, Hank. I’ve had the same dryness, so I started rinsing with a light saline spray between doses, big relief. I haven’t noticed a taste shift yet, but the scent does linger a bit longer after each spray. I’ll keep an eye on the bleed the way you suggest and will ask a GP if it persists.
