My 6‑week Tesofensine trial – appetite HRV and side‑effects log

I decided to try tesofensine after reading about its monoamine reuptake action and seeing some folks talk about appetite drops. 25 mg once daily in the morning with a glass of water. I kept a simple spreadsheet tracking my hunger ratings before meals total daily calories from my food log weight each morning and my Oura HRV and sleep scores.
For the first week I noticed a clear drop in snack cravings especially after lunch and I ended up eating about 300 fewer calories without feeling deprived. My weight crept down roughly half a pound per week. HRV stayed pretty stable actually it went up a point or two which I took as a sign my stress wasn’t spiking.
Sleep suffered a bit I had trouble falling asleep on nights when I took it later than 9 am so I shifted the dose to right after waking and that helped. Dry mouth was constant I kept a bottle of water handy and occasional mild constipation which I managed with extra fiber and magnesium. My heart rate rose about 5‑8 bpm at rest nothing alarming but I checked my blood pressure weekly and it stayed in the normal range.
I stopped after six weeks because the appetite effect plateaued and I wanted to give my system a break. I’m planning to get a basic metabolic panel before I think about another round. This is just my own experience not a recommendation talk to your clinician if you’re considering it.

- aspiring_trailrun: I ran a similar four‑week tesofensine experiment last autumn and found the appetite curb kicked in after about five days, cutting my evening nibbling by roughly a third. I also noticed a slight bump in resting heart rate, around six bpm, but my overnight HRV on the Oura stayed flat, which made me wonder if the sympathetic tone was just shifting rather than rising overall. Did you track any changes in morning glucose or ketones? I kept a fasted finger‑prick log and saw a modest dip in fasting gl
- amber464: Imo your glucose dip aligns with my lower calories, but ketones weren’t tracked by me. My HRV stayed stable even with the HR increase, maybe your Oura flatline vs my slight uptick means different things? Did your fasting glucose drop consistently after the appetite shift? Curious.
