Injection site swelling with Tesamorelin/Ipamorelin combo – any tricks?

I started a daily 1‑mg tesamorelin + 200 µg ipamorelin injection at bedtime two weeks ago and I’ve been getting a consistent swelling and redness at the injection site that lasts about a day. I use a 30‑gauge needle into the thigh, rotate sites, and a small pinch of my fingers to keep the muscle firm. 5 % saline drop on the site.

The swelling feels like a firm puff but isn’t painful, just a bit of discomfort and a rash‑look. secondary question: I’m curious if anyone uses a topical steroid or even just a cool compress after injection to blunt the reaction. Also does bedtime injection cause more swelling kap than morning? I’d love to hear your experiences and what tricks you use to keep the injection site calm.

I keep the needle at a shallow angle and let the saline sit for a few minutes before pulling the syringe out; that seems to cut the flare down. I’ve tried a light ice pack for a few minutes after injection – it cools the spot and the swelling comes off a bit faster. Bedtime doesn’t seem to make it worse for me, but I do notice a tiny b
  • liam_sleepnerd: Thanks for the tips, Greg. I’ll try letting the 5 % saline sit for a couple minutes before derzeit and add a light ice pack for 3–5 min after the shot. I’ve been rotating sites and pinching the thigh for firmness, but I’ll experiment with a shallower needle angle like you suggest. Do you notice any difference if you switch sides each time, or is the extra puff mainly from sleeping on the same side?
