First time on a peptide? How do I read the protocol and start safely?

I’m just starting to think about taking a peptide for sleep support and I’m feeling a bit lost. The protocol says “Micronised Progesterone 20 mg nightly” – the page notes it can be oral or topical, but I’m not sure which one is meant here. If it’s oral, how do I actually take it?

Do I just swallow the tablet, or do I need to dissolve it? The protocol also talks about reconstituting with 5 mL saline, but I’ve never done any injection. What’s the proper way to mix it, and do I need a special syringe?

The instructions mention “ph” – is that something I should worry about? I’ve read that Progesterone can cause drowsiness or dizziness, and I’d like to know how to recognise that. And for Pregnenolone, the dosage is 50–100 mg morning, but it has a short half‑life; should I split doses?

  • hank_m: I’ve dabbled with progesterone a few times for sleep and it’s pretty straightforward once you get the basics down, tbh. The protocol usually means oral unless it says inject, so you can just swallow the micronised tablet, no need to dissolve it – it’s already in a form the body can take up. The reconstitution part is for the injectable version; if you ever go that route you’d mix the powder with sterile saline in a clean syringe, usually a 1‑ml 27‑gauge needle is fine, but only if you’re comfort
  • sarah_c: Thanks for clearing that up about the oral form, Hank. I’ll stick to swallowing the micronised tablets for now. About the drowsiness – you’ll know it when you feel unusually light‑headed or your sleep starts arriving earlier than usual; I’ll monitor that. For the Pregnenolone split dose, would you recommend 25 mg in the morning and 25 mg around noon, or is a 50 mg single dose fine if it ends up feeling too short‑lived? FWIW.
