Oxandrolone and mild liver stress – how do you monitor and mitigate?

I started taking oxandrolone last summer at 20 mg a day, split into two doses because the profile says that’s the performance range. After about three months I got my routine bloodwork for Søren and noticed my AST and ALT were a shade higher than before – still within normal limits, but not my baseline. I’m a bit worried because the info page says mild liver stress can happen.

I’ve been eating a mostly plant‑based diet and staying hydrated, but I’m not sure if that’s enough. Has anyone else seen similar gentle rises and what guard‑rails do you set? Do you add a different supplement like milk thistle, or just keep a tighter eye on the enzymes? Thanks.

  • hank_m: Tbh i’ve been keeping an eye on theirs too after starting oxandrolone, and i’ve seen a mild uptick in AST and ALT that stays in the green zone, just like yours. I’ve been taking a 5‑mg milk thistle dose daily to give the liver a lift and i’ve found it helpful, but i’m not sure the literature backs a dose‑response. I typically check bloodwork every four weeks and watch other markers like GGT and bilirubin, and i keep plenty of water and a plant‑based diet. Would you add any other hepatoprotective
