The article talks about a $12,000 longevity exam at a Silicon Valley clinic that scans your DNA for good and bad aging markers. It highlights how the service gives a detailed report on genes linked to disease_Row and aging.
I’m not fully sold. The paper covers a few dozen genetic variants but a lot of that data is just risk correlations, not actionable advice. For me, the expense feels steep for a tool that tells you you’re “at risk” but doesn’t prescribe a specific protocol. The clinic’s marketing focuses on personalization, yet the science behind each marker is still emerging. I’ve read that many predictors are based on population averages, and they ignore lifestyle factors that we can actually modify.
Do you think those DNA reports are useful for setting a longevity strategy, or are they just another thing that sells the promise of a longer life?
