Methylene blue + ssri: any real serotonin‑syndrome warning?

I tried methylene blue 2 mg/kg for a week to boost brain ATP after a long stretch of burnout. I’d been on sertraline for depression. I woke up with a weird mix of brain fog, tingling in my fingers, and a mild, but persistent headache.
No nausea, no rash, just the brain feeling off. I read that methylene blue’s MAO‑inhibitory effect could add to ssri MAO activity and push serotonin levels too high. I did a quick blood panel, liver enzymes were fine, but i could check serotonin or even a simple hair cortisol test next.
I’m wondering if anyone’s protocol to guard against serotonin syndrome when mixing these two. Maybe a lower starting dose of methylene blue or a short gap after ssri dose? Also curious if anyone has taken it with citalopram or escitalopram -- are the risks the same?
I’d appreciate any real‑world data or safety tweaks. Keep it real, no pseudo‑science. Thanks.
