Persistent scalp irritation after daily RU‑58841 – any mitigation tips?

I started using RU‑58841 at 75 mg/mL in a propylene glycol‑water mix about three weeks ago, applying 0.2 mL to the crown each night. The first ten days were fine, but after day 11 I noticed a dry, itchy patch that turned slightly red and flaked. I tried reducing the dose to 0.1 mL and adding a thin layer of aloe gel underneath, but the irritation persisted, especially after showering. I haven’t changed any other products on my scalp, and my diet and exercise routine stayed the same.

I read that RU‑58841 can cause contact dermatitis in some users, but the information on how to manage it is scarce. Has anyone found a vehicle or post‑application routine that calms the skin? Should I rotate with a non‑alcoholic base or take a short break? Any bloodwork changes to watch for, even though it’s supposed to stay local? Ngl, I’m hoping to keep using it without the itch.

What helped me was switching from PG to a simple 10 % propylene glycol in sterile water with no added solvent, and I let the gel dry for a full ten minutes before rinsing the hair in cool water. I also started applying a very thin layer of coconut oil after it’s dry – it seals the surface without clogging the follicles. No bloodwork changes, but I keep a log of skin redness scores and
