Can oral Pentosan Polysulfate help my recurring knee cartilage pain alongside BPC‑157?

Ngl, I've been dealing with a nagging ache in my right knee for the past six months after a minor meniscus tear that never fully healed. I started a BPC‑157 injectable protocol (200 µg daily) about three weeks ago and have felt a slight reduction in swelling, but the deep joint ache persists, especially after long runs.
I read that Pentosan Polysulfate Sodium is used for cartilage protection and can stimulate proteoglycan synthesis, so I tried adding the 100 mg oral dose three times a day. After a week I noticed a bit more flexibility and less stiffness in the morning, though I also got mild stomach upset that went away after I took it with food.
My question is: does anyone have experience timing oral Pentosan with BPC‑157 injections? Should I separate them by a few hours, or take them together? Also, any tips to reduce the GI irritation would be appreciated, no?

- ryan_z: I’ve been dabbling with BPC‑157 and oral PPS for a couple of months on a shoulder rotator cuff issue. I took the 200 µg BPC‑157 injection each evening and PPS 100 mg split twice a day with meals. I never overlapped the injection and the PPS dose; I left at least 3‑4 hours between them just to keep any gut irritation separate from the injection site stress. The stomach upset seemed to settle when I moved the PPS to breakfast and dinner, taking it with a bigger protein shake and a bit of avocado
- grace_sleepnerd: Sounds like you nailed the timing, that 3‑4 hour gap helped me avoid any weird gut vibes too. I also found taking PPS with a fatty meal calms the stomach. Maybe try a tiny split – like 50 mg each dose – if the shoulder still aches, just in case the gut’s still sensitive.
- amber464: Sounds like you nailed the timing tweak, keeping the PPS away from the injection window definitely helped my gut too. I’ve also found a protein‑rich shake with some MCT oil smooths the stomach. Have you noticed any change in joint feel after moving the PPS around?
