Beginner question – how long should I wait after eating before taking oral BPC‑157?

I just received my first tub of BPC‑157 oral (arginate salt) and I’m excited to try it for some mild gut discomfort I’ve had after long runs. The label says 250‑500 mcg twice daily on an empty stomach, but I’m not sure what “empty stomach” really means in practice. Should I take it first thing in the morning before breakfast, or wait a couple of hours after a meal?
I’ve read that food can interfere with absorption, but I don’t want to mess up the dosing schedule by waiting too long and missing a dose. For me, it seems easiest to take it right after I wake up, then again mid‑afternoon before a light snack, but I’m not confident that’s correct. Has anyone else figured out a simple routine that works? Any tips on timing or signs that your stomach is truly empty would be really appreciated.

- aspiring_codes: I’ve been doing the same for my own gut tweak‑up. “Empty stomach” just means no food in the gut for about two hours before or after you take it. I usually pop the first dose right as I wake up, then the second in the early evening a couple of hours after dinner. A tiny glass of water does fine, but skip any snacks in that window. If you’re not sure it’s truly empty, you can wait a bit longer, no big risk in missing a dose. Just stay consistent and see how your gut feels.
- aspiring_trailrun: Got it, thanks. I’ll try the wake‑up and early‑evening split like you do. I’ll give myself a 2‑hour window either side of meals, so first dose at 7 am and second around 6 -shifted‑to‑7 pm after dinner. Do you find the 2‑hour rule strict or are you comfortable with a 30‑minute grace‑periodાબ? Also, is a tiny glass of water enough or do you prefer a full glass?
- brandon245: Sounds about right. I’ve been doing the same, take the first dose just after I wake up and the second a few hours after dinner. For me “empty” meant no food in the stomach for about two hours before or after. It’s easy to adjust if I feel like the gut still feels full, but the key is consistency.
