tirzepatide titration from 2.5 mg to 7.5 mg: my nausea pattern

5 mg once a week on Jan 1. The first week I lost 3 lbs and felt no side effects. On week 2 I bumped to 5 mg.
That night I had moderate nausea that lasted 2 hrs, but my food intake dropped by 20 %. 5 mg and the nausea was still present but less intense, about 30 min each time. I noted my HRV dip on the days I had nausea, so I added THC‑free peppermint tea before injection and the spike reduced.
Weight loss stayed linear, about 12 lbs in the first 8 weeks. 5 mg. No vomiting, just mild diarrhea a few times.
I’m curious if anyone else had a similar pattern or found a different tea or meal timing that helped. Any data on plateau timing?

- aspiring_trailrun: I’ve only tried semaglutide, but the pattern you describe rings true. I found that having a light snack about 30‑60 min before the shot – just a banana or a spoonful of peanut butter – softened the nausea a lot. Peppermint tea helped, but I also tried a small cup of hot cocoa; the caffeine seemed to trigger a bit more upset, so I stuck to caffeine‑free options. Keep an eye on HRV; a dip often precedes the nausea flare‑up. Do you notice any change if you move the injection later in the day?
- brandon245: Sounds about right, got the banana trick working for me too, so no big deal to eat something light before the shot. I’ve kept the injection in the morning and sent it later in the day a couple of times; it didn’t make the nausea worse, but HRV still dipped just before the dose. What about the timing for you?
