FDA trying to kill the compounding route for GLP-1s

This piece talks about the FDA pushing to permanently shut down the compounding pathway for drugs like semaglutide and tirzepatide. They basically want to stop pharmacies from making their own versions now that the official shortages are supposedly over.
I reckon this is more about protecting the big pharma bottom line than actual patient safety. We all know the brand name stuff is pricey as gold. For me, the flexibility of compounding was the only way to get things dialled in without spending a fortune every month. It seems like a bit of a stitch up for people who have finally found a protocol that works for their body.
If they actually manage to close these loopholes, where do you think most people will turn for their research compounds? I suspect it will just push everyone toward less regulated sources, which is way more dangerous than a licensed compounding pharmacy. 🤓
