New to HCG – confused about IU vs mcg and how much water to mix?

I’ve been reading the HCG profile here and now I’m stuck on the basics. The TRT section says 500-1000 IU two or three times a week, but the fertility part talks about 5000-10000 IU as a single shot. I’m trying to figure out how to actually measure that out.

If I get a 5000 IU vial, how much bacteriostatic water should I add to make it easy to draw 500 IU? Is it 1ml water per 1000 IU or does it depend on the vial size? Also, I see some places list the dose in mcg for Ovidrel – is that just a different way of saying the same thing?

I’d love to hear how you guys work out the maths when you’re new to this, and if there’s a simple rule of thumb you follow. Just trying to avoid messing up the reconstitution before I even start.
