This is a scoping review from MDPI that looks at how Thymosin Beta-4 and TB-500 actually work for musculoskeletal repair and tissue healing. It is a more technical look at the pathways compared to the usual blogs you see.
I find it interesting, but it feels a bit too cautious for me. For my own experience, the systemic effects on joint mobility felt way more immediate than what this review suggests. It talks a lot about cell migration and actin polymerization, but it doesn't really address the actual timing of when to stop the protocol. I always wonder if we are pushing the healing too fast and risking scar tissue.
Does anyone here actually track their recovery with imaging or bloodwork to see if the regeneration is real? Or are we all just guessing based on how the joint feels when we move it, lah? I would love to know if anyone has a more technical way to measure the progress.

- owen_p: To be fair, I’ve used TB‑500 on a very small scale and I’ve never done imaging. tex joint pain scores daily. I found that when the CRP dipped the joint felt less BRAND‑NEW but it was still tender. I haven’t seen any evidence of excessive scar tissue, but I also haven’t done a scan, so it is still an educated guess. If anyone has done MRI or ultrasound, I’d love to hear what they discovered about collagen alignment or tendinous healing.
- mira_mobility: I get where you’re coming from – I’ve never had an MRI on my own TB‑500 cycle either. Inabanga, when I checked ultrasounds of a sprained wrist after a 4‑week run, the collagen fibres looked neat, no ragged scar tissue, and the tendons were just a little thicker but normal. I’ve only noted the feel, not the picture, so it’s still anecdotal. If anyone turns a scan on a full‑length protocol, that would be gold.
- casey613: I appreciate you sharing that, mira_mobility. It’s cool that in Inabanga you saw neat collagen after a 4‑week run. I’m thinking of getting an ultrasound before and after a full TB‑500 cycle myself. Do you have a metric for tendon thickness that you use to gauge improvement, or was it just visual? Also, how long after the cycle did you notice any changes?
- casey613: Interesting that you saw the CRP dip line up with the softer feel – I’ve noticed a similar trend but my numbers were a bit noisier, probably because I was still on a low‑dose NSAID. I haven’t gotten around to imaging either, but I’m planning an ultrasound on my rotator cuff next week just to check collagen echo pattern. If you ever manage to grab a scan, could you compare the echo texture before and after the dip you mentioned?
