Klotho protein research, is the cognitive angle getting oversold?

Been reading up on Klotho lately and trying to figure out where the hype ends and the real signal starts. The longevity associations seem legit in the preclinical stuff, but what catches my eye is the neuroprotection and cognition claims. Everyone jumps on "better cognition" like it is a done deal imo. Check the profile here: /peptides/klotho. It says improved cognition is preclinical. That is a big gap from "this will help your brain."

The mechanism is interesting though. Soluble Klotho acting as a circulating hormone, modulating FGF23, supporting synaptic function. That part makes sense to me chemically. But no established human dose, unknown half-life, unknown safety profile. That is a lot of unknowns for something people are already talking about like it is ready to use.

What I keep wondering is whether the cognitive effects are even direct or if they just come downstream from better kidney and cardiovascular function. If Klotho improves vascular health and that indirectly helps the brain, that is a different story than "Klotho acts on neurons." imo that distinction matters a lot for anyone thinking about this compound.

Anyone seen any human data I am missing? Or is this all still mouse work?
