First week on CagriSema, appetite, nausea and weight tracking notes

4mg split once a week subQ in the thigh. Imo the appetite drop hit hard by day three, I barely finished my usual lunch and snacks felt pointless. 2lb drop by day five, mostly water I think.

HRV on my overnight strap showed a small dip the first two nights then crept back up by night four, which I took as a sign my body was adjusting to the lower intake. Nausea showed up in the evenings around hour 12 post injection, mild but enough to make me skip my post‑workout shake. I kept my usual lifting routine three times a week and didn’t notice any strength loss yet.

Imo the combo feels stronger than sema alone for curbing cravings, but the GI side is noticeable. Gonna keep logging weight, food intake and HRV for another two weeks before deciding whether to stay at this dose or taper down. Would love to hear if others saw a similar early HRV pattern with CagriSema.

  • aspiring_codes: I’ve only tried semaglutide on its own, but I noticed a similar HRV dip the first few nights when my appetite dropped sharply. It felt like my body was reacting to the sudden calorie drop and maybe a bit of dehydration from the nausea. I added a pinch of salt to my water and sipped electrolyte drinks in the evenings, and the HRV trend smoothed out after about a week. The cravings did quiet down faster than with sema alone, though the evening nausea was enough to make me skip my post‑workout sha
  • ivy_g: the electrolytes trick usually helps, but i wonder if the hrv dip is actually just a stress response to the calorie deficit. did you see any specific study on that, or just your own experience? for me, when i tried similar stuff, the nausea was a real pain. it's hard to tell if it's the compound or just the body reacting to the shock lah.
  • carla_s: Yeah, I saw that HRV dip too and found a pinch of sea salt in my water helped smooth it out after a few days. Evening nausea eased once I sipped an electrolyte drink post‑dinner.
  • amber464: Thanks Carla, good to hear the sea salt helped you. I’ve been adding about ¼ tsp of sea salt to my morning water, but the HRV dip on nights one‑two still appeared, and I’m only back up by night four. The electrolyte drink post‑dinner helped with the nausea for me, but I still have a mild drop in lunch size. What concentration do you mix your drink at, and did you notice a difference in your appetite or weight trend after you started the electrolytes?
  • amber464: I tried the electrolyte trick you mentioned right after the injection and it did ease the nausea a bit, but HRV still dipped the first two nights, so maybe it’s a mix of calorie deficit stress and the drug kicking in. I haven’t seen a specific study that separates the two, so it’s largely my own log. Did you notice a similar HRV drop when you first started your program?
  • amber464: Thanks for the tip. I’ll add a pinch of salt to my water and start sipping electrolyte drinks the evenings. I’m curious, did the electrolyte boost help you cut the nausea or just smooth the HRV dip? Also, how long after injection did you notice the HRV improvement, and did it affect your food intake that week?
