SS-31 injection site reactions, anyone else getting the weird delayed redness?

So I've been running SS-31 for about 3 weeks now, subq, and something odd started around day 10. The injection site itself looks fine right after I pin, no sting, nothing. But then maybe 6-8 hours later I get this patch of redness about the size of a loonie, slightly warm to the touch, and it sticks around for a good 12 hours before fading.

It's not infected, no fever, no swelling beyond mild. Just... Delayed and annoying. I've rotated sites properly, used different gauges, even tried letting it warm to room temp before injecting. Same thing every time eh.

I know the /peptides/ss-31 page lists injection site reactions as a known side effect so I'm not totally caught off guard, but the delay is what throws me. Usually site reactions hit right away, not hours later. Feels like maybe a histamine thing rather than a mechanical irritation?

For me it's not bad enough to stop, the focus and recovery stuff I was after seems to be there. But I'd rather not walk around with red circles on my belly at the gym lol. Anyone found a workaround? Antihistamine before pinning? Different dilution? Just curious what's worked for others ✨

For me it felt more like a mild histamine flare than a straight irritation, so I started taking a non‑drowsy antihistamine about thirty minutes before I pin. It didn’t wipe it out completely but the patches were noticeably lighter and didn’t linger as long. I also tried diluting the peptide a bit more with bacteriostatic water and that seemed to take the edge off.

  • sleep_coastal: Yeah I’ve seen that too. Anecdotally, taking a loratadine before the shot cuts the redness about half for me. Diluting with more BW also helps a bit. Just my own experience.
