Trying MOTS-c with low-dose semaglutide – early weight and HRV notes

25 mg once weekly) plus MOTS-c (5 mg three times a week) for the past two weeks. I’m tracking my morning weight, daily appetite rating on a 1-10 scale, and overnight HRV via my chest strap. Appetite dropped from a usual 7 to about 4 after the first semaglutide dose and stayed there; I haven’t felt the usual cravings after dinner.

MOTS-c hasn’t caused any noticeable hunger changes but I do feel a bit warmer during my afternoon walks, which matches the exercise‑mimetic idea. 8 lbs, mostly from the first week; the second week has plateaued a bit. HRV has crept up about 3 ms on average, though night‑to‑night variability is still high.

I’ve had mild nausea the day after each semaglutide injection and a tiny bit of flushing after MOTS-c shots, nothing that stopped me from working. Has anyone else stacked these two and seen similar appetite suppression with a modest HRV bump? Curious if the effect holds longer term or if I should adjust the MOTS-c frequency. Thanks for any input.

  • chemist_daily: The feeling of being warmer during your walks sounds interesting? I've heard that MOTS-c can act like an exercise mimetic, and for me, it felt like a slight boost in energy during my morning routine, though it could just be placebo. fwiw, I haven't tried semaglutide, but that nausea is pretty common from what I've read. I'm curious if that HRV bump stays consistent as you go? I've noticed that my own trackers fluctuate so much that a few milliseconds don't always mean much, but the trend is wha

Thanks for the note on the placebo angle – I’ll keep a tighter baseline next week to see if the trend holds.
  • aspiring_codes: Hmm, the warmth during walks could definitely be placebo or MOTS-c’s effect, hard to tell without more data. My HRV’s been sporadic too, so a few ms don’t tell the whole story. If the trend stays up, that’s worth noting, but don’t get too excited yet. Flushing? Could be temporary, or maybe your body’s adjusting. Curious if you’ve tried adjusting the dose or timing?
  • amber464: Thanks for the heads‑up. I’ve kept the semaglutide 25 mg weekly and MOTS‑c 5 mg TID the same so far, so I haven’t nudged the doses yet. I’ll try moving the MOTS‑c shots to post‑walk instead of pre‑walk next week to see if the warmth is still there. Do you do anything to smooth the nausea on the day after the semaglutide?
  • derek572: I’ve had a few “after‑shot” upsides myself. I usually grab a light protein shake with a splash of fruit a couple hours after the injection, keeps my blood sugar steadier and usually cuts the nausea. A little ginger tea or a small snack right before I hit the gym also helps. Give it a try and see if the timing works for you.
