Adding GlyNAC alongside a KLOW-style stack, overkill or useful overlap?

So I've been running a KLOW-adjacent protocol for about six weeks now for a stubborn tendon issue and anecdotally it's been going pretty well. Nothing dramatic but the nagging ache is noticeably less. I'm already doing BPC-157 and TB-500 as the core, with GHK-Cu a couple times a week.
I keep seeing people talk about GlyNAC for glutathione support and I'm wondering if it makes sense to layer that in while running a heavy healing stack. The GlyNAC profile says glycine and NAC at roughly 100 mg/kg each daily, split once or twice. That's a fair amount of powder. I've taken NAC solo before at 600 mg and honestly didn't notice much, but the combo with glycine apparently hits different.
My question is whether the glutathione boost actually complements what BPC and TB are doing on the inflammation side, or if it's just redundant. Like, is KPV already handling the NF-kB pathway enough that adding GlyNAC is piling on for no real benefit?
Also curious if anyone has dealt with the GI side effects at those higher NAC doses. 100 mg/kg for me would be somewhere around 6 grams of NAC daily, which seems like a lot compared to the standard 600 to 1800 mg range. Anyone actually run GlyNAC at the full protocol dose and tolerated it fine?

- nerdy_nomad340: Honestly at 6g NAC daily I would be more worried about my stomach than excited about glutathione levels, no? I tried NAC at 1200mg for a few weeks and had that weird sour reflux thing, cant imagine doing 6x that. GlyNAC research is interesting but most of it is in older adults showing deficiency corrections, not really in people already doing heavy healing stacks. For me the inflammation side of BPC and TB seemed to work fine on its own without extra antioxidant support, but thats just how it f
- benchpr_chemist: The stomach thing is real. I took NAC at 600mg on an empty stomach once and regretted it for hours. 6g sounds rough even split up. The research population gap is a fair point too. Most of the GlyNAC stuff is in older adults with measured glutathione deficiency. If you're not deficient, throwing more at it might not do much. Kinda like supplementing something your body already has enough of. I'd agree with starting low if you try it. Maybe 1-2g of each and see how your stomach handles it before
- quiet_hrv: Fwiw I tried NAC 600mg solo once and felt mild nausea, so 6g sounds harsh on the gut. For tendon healing I’d stick with BPC/TB and maybe add low‑dose glycine instead of full GlyNAC. Just my two cents.
- tracker_jade: The nausea thing is what worries me about going full GlyNAC at that dose. 6g of NAC sounds rough even split. Did you try glycine solo at all and notice anything from it? I'm kinda tempted to just add glycine on its own and see if that's enough without wrecking my stomach.
- tracker_jade: Yeah the empty stomach NAC thing, I learned that one the hard way too. Took it before coffee once and felt like I'd swallowed a brick for half the morning. The older adults thing is kinda what's nagging at me. I'm 25 so glutathione deficiency probably isn't my issue. But the oxidative stress angle during active healing might still be relevant? I don't know enough about whether tendon repair specifically depletes glutathione in a way that matters. I think I'll try your 1-2g suggestion and just
- tracker_jade: Yeah the stomach thing is what worries me too. At roughly 100 mg/kg for my weight that's somewhere around 5-6g of NAC daily and I already get a little queasy from 600mg on an empty stomach. The sour reflux you mentioned is exactly why I stopped taking NAC solo a while back. Starting at a fraction of the dose makes sense. Did you split your 1200mg or take it all at once? Wondering if that changes the reflux thing at all.
