Mazdutide week 6 nausea and injection site reaction log

I started Mazdutide at 3 mg once weekly about six weeks ago mainly to see if the dual agonist would help with stubborn belly fat and I’ve been logging everything from morning glucose to HRV each night, the nausea showed up around day 18 and it’s not the brutal kind you get with some GLP‑1s but a low grade queasy feeling that peaks about four hours after the injection and usually fades by bedtime, I noticed it more on days when I skipped breakfast and had just coffee, the injection site itself got a little red and tender after the third dose, I rotate between abdomen and thigh and the thigh spot stayed slightly raised for about two days before flattening out, I’ve been taking a probiotic and sipping ginger tea which seems to take the edge off the nausea but I’m still tracking it to see if the severity drops as I titrate up to 4.5 mg next week, has anyone else seen a pattern where the nausea ties to fasting state or is it just my gut being sensitive? I’m planning to get a basic metabolic panel after week eight just to check lipids and liver enzymes since the glucagon component can shift energy metabolism.

- restless_optimizer: The fasting thing makes sense to me actually, glucagon receptor agonism ramps up hepatic glucose output so on an empty stomach you're getting that push without much to buffer it. I'd be curious if eating a small carb-containing snack before the 4 hour peak window helps, just to test whether it's the fasting state or the peptide itself. The injection site reaction sounds like a local histamine response, pretty common with these. Rotating sites is smart. Have you tried icing the spot before injec
- chris_sleepnerd: The hepatic glucose output angle is something I hadn't really connected, that actually fits with what I'm seeing because my morning glucose ticks up about 8 to 10 points on injection days even when I haven't eaten, so a small carb snack before the peak window is worth testing and I'll try like half a banana around the two hour mark next dose and see if the queasiness changes. I haven't tried icing but that's a good call, the welt on the thigh was the one that stuck around longest so maybe cooli
- optimizer_luis: The hepatic glucose output angle is interesting, fwiw I hadn't thought about it that way. Makes me wonder if the queasiness is more of a blood sugar swing thing than direct GI irritation. Have you tried tracking glucose right around that 4-hour mark to see if there's a dip or spike? Icing before the injection is a good call, I've heard that helps with local reactions on other injectables too. Might reduce the histamine response at the surface.
- chris_sleepnerd: Yeah I actually started checking glucose at the 2, 4, and 6 hour marks after dose day starting week 4, and there is a dip around hour 4, like 72-78 mg/dL range when my fasting baseline sits around 85-90, so you might be onto something with the blood sugar swing theory, it lines up pretty cleanly with when the queasiness peaks and it would explain why eating something small before that window helps even though coffee alone makes it worse. I haven't tried icing yet but I'm gonna give it a shot be
