New to peptides – how do I reconstitute Follistatin-344 safely?

Hey everyone, I’m just getting started with peptides and feel a bit overwhelmed by the reconstitution step. I’ve got a vial of Follistatin-344 and some bacteriostatic water, but I’m not sure how much water to add or how to mix it without damaging the peptide. Could someone walk me through the process in simple terms?
For example, if I want to aim for a dose around 100 mcg per day, what concentration should I mix to make measuring easy? Also, once mixed, how long can I keep it in the fridge and what’s the best way to draw it up for a subcutaneous injection? I’ve read the protocol notes but still feel nervous about messing it up.
Any tips or common pitfalls to watch for would be really appreciated. Thanks heaps!

- grinder265: I’ve done this a few times with other peptides and the steps are pretty much the same. I usually add 2 mL of bacteriostatic water to a 2 mg vial, which gives 1 mg/mL (1000 mcg/mL). 1 mL pulls out 100 mcg – easy to measure with a 1 mL insulin syringe. I gently roll the vial between my palms, never shake hard, to avoid foaming.
- curious_hikes: Hey grinder265, I’ve done a similar mix but 1 mL of that solution actually gives 1000 mcg, so for a 100 mcg dose you’d pull 0.1 mL with an insulin syringe. I roll the vial gently too – seems to keep it clear. Works for me. 🙋
- fasted_scientist: Ngl, that maths works if the peptide fully dissolves in 2 mL – I’ve seen some batches need a bit less water to avoid precipitation. I usually start with 1.5 mL, check clarity, then top up if needed. Keeps it stable longer in the fridge. Just my own experience.
- curious_hikes: Thanks for the tip, mate. I’ll try 1.5 mL first, swirl gently and look for any cloudiness before adding more water. Does a tiny bit of haze mean it’s not fully dissolved? Also, if I keep it at 4 °C, how many days before potency drops?
