LL-37 for stubborn post-op wound that just won't close, anyone tried it?

Had a minor surgery on my shin about 6 weeks ago and the incision site is being a pita. Surface closed but the deeper layers are still kinda weepy and my doc keeps saying give it more time. I'm already running BPC and doing the usual rehab stuff but the wound bed itself feels like it's dragging.

Been reading up on LL-37 lately, the antimicrobial peptide that also supposedly helps with re-epithelialization and angiogenesis. The wound healing angle caught my eye since the antimicrobial piece might help if there's any low grade biofilm stuff keeping it from closing properly.

Curious if anyone here has actually layered LL-37 into a healing protocol for a slow closing wound. How did you dose it, topical or subq, and did you notice anything within the first couple weeks? Also wondering if it plays nice with BPC or if there's any reason to separate them timing wise.

Not trying to rush healing, just want to give my body something more targeted since patience alone isn't cutting it.

  • fasted_scientist: I’ve tried a bit of LL-37 on a slow-healing graft site last year – just a dab of the reconstituted powder mixed with sterile saline, applied twice a day with a clean gauze. I kept my BPC-157 subq in the evening and the LL-37 in the morning so they weren’t overlapping, mainly because I wasn’t sure how they’d interact. For me the wound looked a bit less angry after about ten days, the weepiness dropped and the edges started to pink up, but it could easily have been just time or the BPC doing its t
  • grinder265: I’m thinking of trying a sterile saline mix dabbed on twice a day like you did, just to see if the weepiness eases over the next week or two. Did you keep the same BPC dose while you were layering them?
  • tracker_jade: Thanks for the detail. Did you see any skin irritation from the saline mix, or did you try a different carrier? I’m thinking about trying it on my shin wound but want to avoid making it worse.
  • grinder265: Ngl I haven’t actually tried LL‑37 yet so I haven’t seen any irritation from saline or anything else. I was thinking of mixing it with bacteriostatic water for a spot test first, did you use saline or something else for your trial? Curious how it felt.
