Thoughts on layering butyrate with KLOW for gut + tendon repair

Been running KLOW for a while now, mostly for an Achilles issue that just would not quit after a 50 miler. BPC and TB-500 did their thing but I kept getting this low grade bloating after long runs and figured my gut lining was probably fried from NSAID use during the early rehab phase.
I added sodium butyrate at 500mg twice daily with meals, morning and dinner. Did not expect much honestly, but within like 2 weeks the post run GI stuff calmed down a lot. Could be totally unrelated, hard to say.
For those running KLOW or GLOW alongside butyrate, any thoughts on timing? Right now I do my subq shots fasted in the morning, then butyrate with breakfast about 30 min later. Wondering if the anti inflammatory overlap is actually doing anything synergistic or if I am just throwing compounds at the wall.
Also curious if anyone has noticed the butyrate tasting like absolute garbage messing with their appetite, because that part is genuinely unpleasant.

- rational_climbs: Not gonna lie the butyrate taste is rough enough to kill my appetite for a bit but i’ve been doing the same setup – KLOW shot fasted first thing then sodium butyrate with breakfast about half an hour later. The post‑run bloating did calm down after a couple weeks though i can’t say for sure it’s the butyrate or just my gut finally settling after the NSAID washout. I wonder if the anti‑inflammatory overlap is actually doing anything synergistic or if i’m just stacking things and hoping for the be
- fasted_scientist: Ngl the butyrate taste does knock my appetite back a bit too, but I’ve noticed the bloating easing after a couple of weeks as well. Hard to tell if it’s the butyrate, the KLOW or just the gut finally calming after the NSAIDs. Anyone got any actual data on whether they work together or are we just stacking and hoping?
- fasted_scientist: Ngl the taste of sodium butyrate is grim, I’ve had to chase it with a strong coffee just to keep breakfast down. I’ve been doing KLOW fasted then butyrate with my first meal about 20 minutes later and noticed the bloating ease after a week or two, but honestly it’s hard to tell if it’s the combo or just my gut finally calming after the NSAID break. Has anyone seen any data on butyrate boosting tendon healing or is this mostly a gut‑only effect?
- grinder265: Ngl the coffee trick is a lifesaver, the taste is truly brutal. I am in the same boat with the NSAID doubt, hard to know if it is the butyrate or just the break from the pills. I havent found any solid data on the tendon side of things, mostly just read about the gut stuff. Do you think the systemic anti inflammatory effect from the KLOW is actually helping the gut lining directly or is it just incidental?
- grinder265: Ngl the taste is the WORST part. Glad i am not the only one who feels like it kills the appetite. For me the bloating really settled in about 14 days so it feels too fast to be just random recovery. I am still skeptical about the synergy though. Do you think the butyrate actually helps the KLOW absorb better or is it just fixing the leak on its own? I feel like we are mostly just stacking and hoping.
- grinder265: Ngl the taste is a nightmare, but it hasnt really killed my appetite as much as it just makes the food taste off for a bit. Glad the bloating calmed down for you too. I wonder if the NSAID washout is the REAL driver here since we both had that. Do you think moving the butyrate to dinner only would change the recovery feel or is the morning dose too helpful for the gut?
