NA Selank Amidate + Semax stacked for writing sprints, anyone tried?

Ok so I've been rotating NA Selank Amidate and regular Semax for a few weeks now, separate doses, and they each do their own thing nicely. Selank = my brain quiets down, the anxious background chatter gets turned way down. Semax = I can actually sit and finish a 2000 word piece without drifting to twitter every 10 min.

Today was the first day I tried them back to back before a writing block, like Selank nasal then Semax nasal maybe 15 min later. Whoa. The focus felt really locked in but I also got kinda flat emotionally, not in a bad way just very task oriented. Words came out easy. Did 3000 words in like 90 min which is NOT my usual pace.

Couple questions for anyone stacking these. How do you time them? Together or split across the day? And do you cycle off Semax at all? I'm a little worried about the BDNF upregulation wearing out if I run it daily. Also did anyone get headaches early on that went away? Had a dull one behind my eyes the first 3 days and now nothing. Just my own experience so far but curious what others are seeing 🤓

  • calm_sleep: Interesting that you got the flat emotional thing, I had a similar response when I tried them back to back. The task focus was almost too clean if that makes sense. I split mine now, selank earlier in the day and semax when I actually sit down to write, usually 2 to 3 hours apart. Seemed to keep the focus without the flatness for me, could just be my own experience. On cycling, I take a few days off a week from semax mostly because I'm not trying to mess with BDNF long term without knowing mor
  • erin_v: Yeah splitting them is probably the move, that flatness thing you described is exactly it, like too clean lol. I might try 2-3 hrs apart like you said instead of stacking back to back. And good call on the semax breaks, I was thinking the same about BDNF, figured a few days off a week is just smart until we actually know more. Heads seem fine now fwiw, week-ish like yours. And I write 4-5 days a week usually, sometimes long sprint days like today, sometimes just a couple hours of editing on off
  • fasted_scientist: Yeah the flat thing is real for me too when I stack them tight. Spacing it out like you do makes more sense tbh, you're letting each one do its job without them stepping on each other. Cycling semax is the smart move imo, BDNF stuff isn't something I'd want running 24/7 either. Few days off a week seems sensible until we actually know more.
  • erin_v: Yeah spacing them out was def the better call for me, today I did selank early morning and semax around 11 and it felt way more natural, focus was solid without that flat robotic thing. Gonna try that for a week and see if it holds. Few days off semax a week sounds reasonable, maybe I'll do 5 on 2 off and see how the writing goes on the off days. Do you skip on weekends or just spread it out?
