NA-Selank vs the amidate version, anyone tried both back to back?

So I picked up some NA-Selank a while back and the calm focus was nice, more or less what I expected from regular Selank but the duration felt a bit longer for me. Then I got curious about the amidate form because of how it supposedly holds up better and I have been rotating them the last few weeks. Honestly the amidate feels smoother on the anxiety side, like less of a quick come-up and more of an even keel through the afternoon, no?
But the focus piece is harder for me to pin down, some days I feel really locked in and other days it just kind of blends into the background. I am dosing around 300-500 mcg split morning and early afternoon, mostly intranasal. Curious if anyone else has stacked them side by side and noticed one wins on mood versus the other on raw concentration. Also wondering if the amidate hits the serotonin side more for people, I could just be imagining it.

- emma_codes: Anecdotally I've done exactly this back to back, NA first for a couple weeks then swapped to the amidate for another couple. The even keel thing you described lines up with what I noticed too, it definitely felt less spiky on the anxiolytic side, more of a slow build and gentler taper through the day. I never got that come-up jittery feeling with it. The focus piece I found the opposite actually, regular NA gave me a cleaner "want to sit down and write for 5 hours" kind of drive, while the amid
- optimizedsean: Interesting that we had opposite focus experiences, I actually got more of that "sit down and work for hours" feel from the amidate, while NA felt calmer but kinda blunted. Could just be how each of us responds to the serotonin side of things, or maybe timing between doses matters more than I thought, how long after pinning were you judging the focus?
- grant_climbs: Interesting that focus landed opposite for you, I noticed the same honestly. The amidate smoothed out the anxiety nicely but I had to push myself to start work, with NA I just sat down and wrote for hours without thinking about it. The "even keel" framing is spot on though, almost too even some days.
- optimized_grinder: Yeah exactly that, the even keel thing is real. The push to actually start is what got me moving the dose earlier in the day, like right when i wake up instead of waiting till mid morning. Otherwise by 2pm i am calm but still on the couch reading instead of working, which is not the goal. Na-selank just put me in the chair, no negotiation. Curious if you tried moving the timing around or if you just lived with it?
- optimized_grinder: Yeah timing could be the whole thing honestly, when I noticed the focus popping I was maybe 60-90 min after a dose, if it was later than that I would usually miss it. With NA it was more like a general background thing all day so easier to miss the peak. The blunted feel you describe with NA, did that come with the same calm or was it more flat, no energy at all? Trying to figure out if I should expect that switch if I stay on amidate longer.
- optimized_grinder: Interesting, so for you it was the opposite on focus, na was the sharper one and amidate was more of the even keel without the drive. That lines up with the serotonin angle you mentioned, no? My experience has been more mixed honestly, some mornings on amidate i get really locked in and others it just kind of floats there. Could be sleep or food, i have not controlled for either very well. Did you notice any difference in sleep between the two?
