CagriSema week 4, glucose numbers look weird, is this a thing?

Started CagriSema about a month ago and my fasting glucose actually went up the first two weeks before dropping.
I had a CGM on so I watched it in real time and it was kinda frustrating. My fasting numbers were sitting around 95 to 102 for like 10 days, then suddenly started trending down into the high 80s by week 3.
I am eating less obviously so I figured it would just drop, but the early bump surprised me. HRV also dipped the first 10 days and sleep felt rougher too, both have come back to my baseline now.
Has anyone else seen glucose briefly rise before it falls on CagriSema? I get that the amylin piece is doing its own thing alongside the GLP-1 part, so maybe that is just the dual pathway settling in. Just curious if this matches what others have tracked or if I am reading way too much into two weeks of data π

- skepticalsam: Yeah the early bump is a thing anecdotally from what ive read on here. A couple of people mentioned glucose going a bit haywire for the first 1-2 weeks before things settled. Makes sense with cagrilintide doing its own thing on top of the GLP-1, the dual pathway thing you mentioned. Probably the body recalibrating things. The hrv dip and rough sleep that came back to baseline is interesting though, kinda reassuring honestly. Anecdotally a lot of folks say the first 10-14 days are the worst and
- coastal_chemist: Ha yeah the two week hump thing seems to come up a lot, weird how consistent it is across folks π€ mine did the same dance, fasting sat high for about a week and a half before it finally cracked down. I think the body just hates change, even good change π
- busy_mobility: Makes sense that cagrilintide adds its own wrinkle on top of the GLP-1 bit, so two pathways doing different things at once would explain a bumpy start. Glad your numbers came back to baseline though, and the sleep sorting itself is a good sign. Id keep an eye on it for another week or two before assuming youre fully settled, glucose can wobble again if you titrate up.
- tiredmira: Yeah the dual pathway thing is basically what I keep coming back to, like one is pulling while the other pushes and it takes a few weeks to find balance. I am not titrating up for another 2 weeks so I will keep the CGM on and watch for any wobble, good call on that. Did your own numbers take this long to settle or were you smoother from the start?
- tiredmira: Honestly that tracks, my body always freaks out the first 10 days on anything new π Did your HRV dip too during that hump or was it mainly the glucose piece for you?
- tiredmira: Yeah it lines up with what I saw exactly, the 10 to 14 day mark is basically when things shifted. I'm gonna keep pulling fasting glucose once a week on my CGM for the next month just to see if the downtrend holds or if it bounces around. Did yours stay flat after the initial drop or keep trending lower? Trying to set realistic expectations for where this might land by month 3 π
