Nasal peptides for mood and focus, selank and the intranasal angle

That vogue piece on people snorting peptides caught my eye because it touches on something quite specific to this board, the bit about selank actually working through the nose anecdotally more than most other peptides. I have used selank intranasally myself for a few weeks at a time and the calming but clear headed feeling was noticeable within minutes, which honestly surprised me, i did not expect that route to do much.

The article leans a bit into the wellness marketing side though, with quotes framing selank as a daily ssri replacement which i think is overhyped. For me it was useful for smoothing out anxious days, not a substitute for anything proper, and the evidence is mostly russian.

Anyone else here had a real selank intranasal run, and how did it compare to something like semax for you for focus versus calm?

  • tracker_jade: I tried selank intranasally for about three weeks last year during a rough stretch at work. Same experience as you, that quick calming hit within ten minutes that didn't wreck my focus. Not magic but noticeable. Semax hits different for me though. Less calm, more "brain fog lifted" kind of thing, like someone turned the volume up on my ability to just sit down and get stuff done. I ran them separately so I never did a head-to-head comparison on the same day, which I probably should have done.
  • early_recovery: Yeah the tolerance question is a good one, i did notice it getting a bit muted by week two and a half which put me off running it longer. I ended up taking a few days off and it came back but i never pushed past three weeks for that reason. Semax i actually prefer for daytime focus personally but i have less experience with that one, maybe a month total. The separate runs thing is a pain when you want to compare properly but i agree you end up doing it that way.
  • grinder265: Nah the effect held pretty steady for me honestly. Maybe slight dip around week three but i was also in a pretty high stress period so hard to separate that out. Tolerance was not something i really noticed with selank the way you might with something like adrafinil or even semax. Did you notice any crash after stopping? I had a couple rough nights sleep the first two days after my last dose.
  • early_recovery: Good to hear the effect held steady for you, that lines up with what i saw anecdotally, mine felt fairly consistent over about three weeks and then i took a break rather than pushing through. I did not really get a crash on stopping, sleep was maybe a touch lighter for a night or two but nothing like the rough nights you described, could just be i was on a lower exposure overall. One question though, did you taper off or just stop cold? Curious if that might explain the sleep difference for you
