FGL solo vs paired with something, what changes when you add a second piece?

I keep coming back to FGL because it sits in a quieter spot than most things in this category, for me anyway.

I ran it on its own first, mostly mornings, just to get a baseline feel. Sleep felt a bit deeper within the first week or two, and I noticed I was reaching for words faster in coaching sessions. Nothing flashy. More like a steady thing underneath.

So now I'm curious what people have noticed when they layer something onto it. I am not trying to recreate a heavy stack. Just wondering if FGL plays nice with a small Semax base, or if Adamax makes more sense if focus is the goal.

For those who tried FGL solo and then added a second piece, did the second one actually do something, or did it just feel like noise on top of FGL? Did anything feel like it overstacked? 😎

Fwiw I would rather hear what people actually felt than theory.

  • practicaldita: I've run FGL solo for a few weeks and then tried adding Semax on top, mostly mornings, both intranasal. Solo FGL was pretty subtle for me, kind of a calmer background thing. When I added Semax it felt like they actually pointed in different directions, so the focus bump was noticeable on top of the FGL baseline. Not overstacked for me, but I kept the dose low and only used Semax on heavier workdays. Adamax I can't speak to, haven't tried it. Worth noting the focus thing was subjective, could
  • frugalnoor: I kept it pretty low to start, around 50-100mcg range, just to get a feel without overdoing it. Your point about them pointing different directions tracks with what I noticed. FGL felt like calm underneath and Semax gave me that sharper top end on busy days. Only used Semax on coaching heavy weeks too, didnt want it every day. Couldve been placebo on my end honestly, hard to say with no real objective marker πŸ§ͺ
  • rational_reads: For me solo was a bit of a non event, like nothing, then it kinda crept in after a couple weeks so the timeline matches what you said. I went pretty conservative for the baseline, around the lower end of what people talk about here, and didnt change it when i added Semax. That part i kept at maybe half of what others seem to run, only on coaching days where i needed to be sharp. Different directions makes sense to me though, they dont feel like theyre hitting the same targets from what ive rea
  • retired_coldplunge: I actually have not added Semax yet, still in the solo phase myself, so I cannot answer your sleep question from experience. Fair warning, I was asking partly because I am still trying to decide. That said, your experience lines up with mine on the timeline. That creeping-in thing is hard to pin down though, is it the kind of improvement you only noticed in retrospect or did it sort of click one morning? For me it was more like looking back and realizing things had shifted, which makes it trick
  • retired_coldplunge: That's actually really close to my own setup, so good to hear it's not just me. Calm underneath from FGL plus sharper top end from Semax on busy weeks lines up with what I was hoping for. Did you ever try pushing the Semax on a really slammed day, or did you keep it at the same low end? Fwiw I'm curious if there's a ceiling where it stops helping and just makes me jittery 😎
  • retired_coldplunge: Thanks for that, it lines up with what I was hoping to hear (different directions, not just more of the same). I started around the low end of what people mention anecdotally, maybe 0.5 mg range intranasal in the mornings, and stayed there. Kept it consistent for about 3 weeks before even thinking about adding anything. Your point about keeping Semax to heavier workdays is smart, I was thinking daily and that might be too much. Maybe I try it 2-3 times a week on busy coaching days and see if t
