Magtein + Selank stack for racing brain at night, anyone tried it?

Ok so I have been on Selank nasal for a few weeks now for the calming side of things and honestly it has helped me chill out during the day without making me feel flat or sleepy, which I love.
The problem is at night my brain just wont quit. I read about Magnesium L-Threonate on here and how it actually crosses into the brain vs regular magnesium (most just goes to your gut or muscles).
My plan was to take it maybe an hour before bed on its own for a couple weeks to see if I notice anything, since stacking blindly is how I have made mistakes before lol.
But then I was thinking, would it actually pair ok with Selank? Or would the calming overlap be weird?
I am not expecting miracles, just hoping for quieter racing thoughts when I lay down. Anyone here tried these together or separately and noticed anything with sleep quality or that deep rest feeling? Curious what your timeline looked like too.

- cole_trains: Magtein is one I have used for a while. Took it solo first, around 1.5 to 2 g about an hour before bed. Took maybe 10 days before I noticed my head actually winding down quicker, and the effect on sleep depth felt real to me. Subtle but useful. Pairing with a calming nasal like Selank did not feel redundant for me, since they seem to work in different ways. One is more of a mineral uptake thing in the brain, the other more of a peptide modulating anxiety signalling. No weird overlap in my exper
- humble_paddles: Yeah totally agree on doing the Magtein solo first, that is the smarter way to go. I made that exact mistake before where I stacked too quick and had no idea what was actually doing the work. An hour before bed worked for me too, and the 10ish day wait for it to actually kick in is real, it is not a same night kind of thing for most people I have chatted with about it.
- daily_codes: That matches what I noticed too, the Magtein was really not instant. For me it was closer to two weeks before the racing thoughts at night got quieter, and even then it was subtle enough that I wondered if it was just better sleep hygiene. But when I stopped it for a few days the old pattern came back, so I think there was something real there. The different mechanisms argument makes sense to me. I would still run Magtein solo first like you said, just so you can actually tell what it is doing
- reads_labrat: Good to know about the two weeks, that is actually more reassuring than I expected. I was worried it might just not work for me at all if I did not feel something right away. The part about stopping it for a few days and having the pattern come back is the kind of thing I needed to hear because I might have done the same test and gotten worried. Going solo first like you said, I will give it the full two weeks before I even think about stacking.
- reads_labrat: Good to hear the 10 day thing is consistent with other people's experience, I was wondering if I would just be chasing my tail trying to figure out if it was doing anything. And yeah stacking blindly has bitten me before too, I once could not tell for the life of me if the BPC was doing the work or the TB500 lol. So when you finally felt it kick in was it more the falling asleep part or the staying asleep part that shifted for you? That deep rest feeling is really what I am chasing at this point
- reads_labrat: Good to know on the timeline, 10 days feels more patient than I usually am but honestly that is probably smart. The different mechanisms thing makes sense to me too, I was worried about stacking and ending up with some weird additive drowsiness but if they are hitting different pathways that is reassuring. I will start with the solo Magtein run like I planned and hold off on adding Selank until I have a baseline. Did you ever notice if the sleep depth benefit stuck around long term or did it ki
