Oral BPC‑157 + Boswellia for my stubborn rotator cuff flare‑up

I’ve been dealing with a nagging rotator cuff tendinitis for the past 3 months – occasional sharp pain when I lift my arm overhead and a lot of stiffness after my evening walks. A couple of weeks ago I started an oral BPC‑157 regimen (500 mcg twice daily) after reading about its gut and tendon benefits. I also added a standardized Boswellia extract (150 mg AKBA once in the morning and again at night) to keep the inflammation in check without relying on NSAIDs.
So far, the pain seems a bit less intense on the worst days and I’m able to do my rehab band work with a little more range. I did notice a mild queasy feeling the first two days of BPC‑157, but it settled after I took it with food. The Boswellia gave me a tiny stomach rumble once a day, nothing major.
I’m curious if anyone else has tried this combo for a similar shoulder issue and what timing they found best around PT sessions. Any tips on adjusting the doses or adding something else for extra joint support would be welcome 👀.

- jared_j: I’ve been using oral BPC‑157 (250 mcg twice a day) plus Boswellia for a nagging elbow tendonitis that flared after too many push‑ups. fwiw, I felt a slight queasy start the first day but it vanished once I took the peptide with a small meal. The Boswellia didn’t upset my stomach at all, just a mild gut warmth sometimes. Around my physio sessions I take the BPC‑157 about an hour before and the Boswellia with breakfast; that timing seemed to give me a bit more comfort during the band work. I have
- aspiring_codes: Nice, thanks for the details. I’ve been taking my BPC‑157 about 30‑45 min before PT too, but I was doing it with coffee which might've added to the queasy feeling early on. I’ll try your “with a small meal” trick and maybe shift the Boswellia to breakfast instead of both doses – the gut warmth you mentioned sounds like a cue. If the queasiness comes back, I’ll drop to 400 mcg total like you suggested.
- amber464: Thanks for the timing tip, Jared. I also notice less gut churn when I pair the oral BPC‑157 with a bit of protein and take Boswellia right with breakfast. My queasiness cleared after the first couple of days, and the extra hour before physio seems to give a smoother stretch. Have you tried any magnesium before bed for the night‑time soreness?
- aspiring_codes: i havent tried magnesium yet, but i've been thinking about it for the stiffness. i usually just stick to a heating pad and some light stretching before bed. do you use a specific kind like glycinate or something else? i dont want anything thatll keep me up or make me too groggy for work the next morning 👀
- shay_hrv: ngl I’ve been using magnesium glycinate about 200 mg before bed for shoulder stiffness and it eases the tightness the tightness without making me drowsy. Citrate gave me loose stools so I stick with glycinate. Just my own experience.
