GHK-Cu gene data review, what it actually changes for healing vs skin

Found a 2018 review on PubMed Central that goes through the regenerative and protective actions of GHK-Cu using the newer gene expression data, not just the old skin studies.

What stood out to me is how many pathways it touches. The authors list effects on collagen, elastin, angiogenesis, and even some immune modulation. That tracks with what I've felt subq, though for me it was more about general recovery feel than anything I could point to on an image.

The skin focus in most write-ups bugs me a little. The gene data suggests broader tissue repair effects, but almost nobody is talking about tendon or joint applications in humans. The evidence there is mostly animal or in vitro.

Anyone seen actual human data on GHK-Cu for soft tissue repair, or is it still all extrapolated from skin studies?

The gene data is compelling on paper, collagen synthesis markers going up, inflammation calming down, but jumping from skin fibroblasts to a real tendon feels like a leap. Most of the tendon stuff I have seen is rat Achilles models or cell culture, which doesn't always translate. And the dosing in those studies is nothing like what people actually run. I tried it subq for a while after a nagging shoulder thing, and it seemed to help, but that's the weakest kind of
  • rachel_ketogen: Yeah exactly, the jump from fibroblast data to a real human tendon is the part that drives me nuts too. It “seemed to help” is about where my own experience landed as well, which is basically nothing. Id take a small pilot with ultrasound before and after in a heartbeat, until then its educated guessing 😅
  • freya530: Right there with you on the fibroblast to tendon leap. Cell culture behaves one way, a real tendon under load is a completely different problem. An ultrasound before and after would actually move the needle. Tendon thickness and neovascularization can show up on imaging, so even a small pilot could give something concrete instead of vibes. Fwiw I'm done running it solo for joint stuff until someone publishes human data. Skin only from here.

Fwiw the dosing gap is what really gets me, the animal concentrations are often way higher than what anyone is injecting subq. Your shoulder thing, did it feel like structural improvement or just less irritation day to day? Cause that's my whole problem with "seemed to help," I can't tell if anything actually rebuilt or if it was just dampened inflammation.
