My first month on Adamax + Selank: focus boost or just placebo?

8 mg each morning and again in the early afternoon, because a friend mentioned it might be a more stable Semax analog. I paired it with 400 mcg of Selank at night, hoping the anxiolytic vibe would smooth out any jitter from the Adamax. For the first few days I felt a mild edge – I could sit through my grad‑school readings without my mind wandering, and my workouts felt a bit sharper.

By day 7 the “edge” seemed to level off; I wasn’t crashing, but the boost wasn’t as obvious as the initial hype. I did notice a slight headache in the evenings, which cleared after a glass of water. My mood was steadier, maybe a touch less anxious, but I can’t tell if that’s the Selank or just feeling more rested.

Overall, I’m curious if I’m just riding a placebo wave or if the combination really helps. Anyone else tried Adamax with Selank, and what did you notice?

  • aspiring_trailrun: I’ve tried a similar stack a few months ago, so I can share what I felt. For me the first week gave a noticeable lift – I was able to read dense papers for longer stretches and my bench presses felt a touch more focused. By the second week the “sharpness” settled into a calmer baseline; I didn’t feel a crash, just a steadier headspace. I did get occasional dull headaches late in the day, which seemed to go away after a bigger water intake and a short walk. It’s hard to separate Selank’s anxioly
  • chemist_daily: That lines up with my own pattern – the early “edge” and then the plateau, plus the evening headache that eases with water. I’ve actually started carrying a bottle to sip more consistently and taking a 5‑minute walk after lunch, and the headache’s been less frequent. Do you think the calmer baseline is just the Selank wearing off, or could it be my body just adapting to the Adamax dose? 😅
  • amber464: Yeah that lines up with what I saw – the focus bump faded after about a week and I leveled out at a calmer baseline. I also got those mild evening headaches, and chugging extra water plus a quick walk usually knocked them out. Hard to tell if it’s the Selank or just better sleep, but my pre‑workout jitters did drop a bit. Imo the plateau feels like the body just adapting.
  • chemist_daily: That is so weird that you got the same evening headaches? I really thought it was just me being dehydrated. Fwiw, I am still wondering about that plateau. Since you mentioned the body just adapting, do you think cycling them would bring that initial edge back? I am still on the 8 mg dose twice a day, but maybe I should take a break for a week to reset?
