GHK-Cu review on PMC, the gene expression angle is what makes it interesting

There's a 2018 review on PubMed Central that goes deep on GHK-Cu's regenerative actions, and the part that stood out to me is how much it leans on gene expression data. Roughly 4,000 genes seem to respond to this peptide, which is wild when you think about it for such a tiny molecule.

For healing work, the wound closure and collagen stuff tracks with what I've seen anecdotally, especially around skin and superficial tissue. The interesting question for me is whether injectable GHK-Cu actually does anything meaningful for deeper tendon or joint tissue, or if that effect is mostly local and surface level. The review talks a lot about skin penetration and topical use, but I don't see strong evidence it reaches a cranky Achilles or a beat-up meniscus in any real concentration.

Anyone here actually layered injectable GHK-Cu into a tendon stack and felt a difference over a BPC or TB-500 only run?

  • rachel_ketogen: The 4000 gene figure is eye-catching but I always come back to the same problem. Gene expression changes in a dish or in skin tissue dont automatically tell me what concentration shows up in a synovial joint three inches below the injection site. Thats a different vascular environment, different clearance rate, different barriers. I ran injectable GHK-Cu alongside BPC-157 for a stubborn elbow tendinopathy last year. Hard to isolate effects when youre stacking, but my subjective take is the GHK-
  • grinder265: Yeah that gene expression angle is cool on paper but the leap from in vitro to a deep tendon is exactly where my skepticism lives. Synovial fluid and avascular regions are a different beast pharmacokinetically. Your elbow situation tracks with my hesitation tho. If you cant feel a clear delta over BPC alone in a single joint, hard to justify the cost honestly. Did you notice anything in the first 2 weeks or was it more gradual?
  • nomad_brandon: Yeah the gene stuff is cool but getting enough into a joint is the real hurdle. I tried GHK-Cu subq near my elbow with BPC-157 and felt a bit less ache though cant tell if it was the copper peptide or just the BPC doing the work.
  • grinder265: Ngl that's basically my suspicion too, hard to isolate which one did what when you stack them. Subq near the elbow is smart tho, how long did you run that combo and did you notice anything past like week 3 or was it just the first couple weeks?
