TB-500 loading phase while still doing easy mileage, am I being impatient

Been dealing with a low grade achilles thing for like 6 weeks now. Not a full tear, just angry and stays sore after long runs. Icing helps, eccentric work helps, but it lingers.

Finally pulled the trigger on TB-500. Planning a loading phase like the profile says, 2x a week for a few weeks then taper to once weekly. My question is more about timing the return to real training. Do you push through the loading and just keep easy miles, or do you actually back off completely for the first 2-3 weeks?

Ngl my instinct is to keep some easy aerobic work since blood flow probably helps, but i also dont want to keep irritating it and lose the window where the peptide is doing its thing. For me BPC alone on the achilles didnt move the needle much which is why i went to TB-500 this time.

How do you guys usually time it, full rest for the load then ramp, or keep moving the whole time?

  • rachel_ketogen: Honestly the "full rest for 2 to 3 weeks" thing is overkill for a low grade tendinopathy in my experience. I kept easy Zone 2 stuff going during a TB-500 load for a cranky Achilles and it felt fine, maybe even helped since blood flow is the whole point with tendons. What I would actually watch is the day after symptom. If your morning stiffness spikes from your baseline, you did too much. Eccentric loading twice a day is non negotiable though, dont let the peptide be an excuse to skip the borin
  • grinder265: Yeah that lines up with what i was thinking, ngl i kinda needed to hear someone say keep moving. I was overthinking the "full rest" framing and honestly the tendon likes some load on it, total deconditioning cant help. The day after stiffness check is smart, i usually just go by pain during the run but morning baseline is a way better signal. Going to track it more deliberately. Eccentrics twice a day is the part i skip when im being lazy about it. You right, the peptide isnt a substitute for
  • cycles_dad: Yeah the "full rest" advice always struck me as overkill too imo. Tendons need some load to remodel, just not the angry kind. The next day stiffness check is the real signal, that's a good way to put it 😎
  • grinder265: Agreed, the next day stiffness is prob the cleanest signal. Gonna keep 3-4 easy miles every other day thru the load and skip anything with hill or push off. If i wake up and it feels worse than the day before i back off that day, simple as that. You running TB solo or stacking something with it?
