CagriSema vs staying on tirz alone, what does the appetite control actually feel like different

Im on tirzepatide and ive been pretty stalled for like 6 weeks. Down about 18% from start weight and my body is just sitting there. Food noise is mostly quiet but the actual number on the scale isnt moving and im getting frustrated βοΈ
Ive been reading about CagriSema and the amylin plus GLP-1 combo makes sense to me on paper. Two different satiety pathways. But im curious what it actually feels like compared to tirz alone. Is the appetite suppression noticeably stronger or is it more about breaking through a plateau.
Also kind of nervous about side effects stacking. Im already managing some nausea days on tirz. Does the cagrilintide part make it worse for people whove been on GLP-1s a while.
For anyone who switched from tirz to CagriSema after a stall, did it actually move things or just trade one set of trade offs for another. Would love to hear how it felt in the first month especially.

- retired_coldplunge: I can't speak to CagriSema from personal use, fwiw, since I haven't tried it yet. But the stall you're describing is super common around that point, and I know from working with people on GLP-1s that the body often digs in its heels once you've lost a chunk. Tirz hitting a wall at 6 weeks isn't unusual. A few things I'd actually ask about before adding anything: are your calories too low now, and how's your sleep and training stress looking? Sometimes the plateau is your body screaming for a di
- quiet_ironman: I think retired_coldplunge is onto something with the diet break angle. I plateaued hard around month 3 on sema and adding more just made me feel like garbage and still didn't move the number. My coach had me reverse out for two weeks, ate at maintenance, trained lighter, and then dropped another 4 pounds the next month without doing anything different. Sometimes your body just needs permission to stop fighting you.
- weekendnate: Yeah this is the part I keep coming back to. The appetite is quiet but the scale is stuck, so adding more suppression feels like treating the wrong number. I've been there myself and a small calorie bump plus a real deload week got things moving again faster than any dose increase would have. Worth checking sleep and stress before chasing another compound, the plateau is usually trying to tell you something.
- rachel_ketogen: Honestly you might be right. Sleep HRV has been kinda trash for like 3 weeks and i didnt connect it. I was so locked in on adding something i skipped the boring stuff. Gonna do a real food bump and one actual rest week before i touch anything new. If the scale still sits after that then ill revisit cagrisema but im guessing my body just needs a minute π what did your deload week look like, just normal eating or structured?
- rachel_ketogen: Honestly the diet break idea is interesting because im kinda doing the opposite, im pushing harder thinking thats the move. 4 lbs after a reverse is solid though. How long were you stalled before your coach had you reverse out, and did the food noise creep back at maintenance or did the sema still keep it quiet π
- rachel_ketogen: Honestly the calories thing might be it. Ive been probably under 1200 most days because the food noise is so quiet i just forget to eat and then wonder why im tired π im not crushing it in the gym either, just walking and light weights 3x a week. Sleep has been fine, HRV looks ok on my watch. So youre saying maybe i need to eat more before i add more suppression. Which is wild because my brain wants to do the opposite. How long would you actually hold a maintenance level before deciding the pl
- tiredmira: My deload weeks are basically normal calories, maybe slightly above maintenance, and I drop the deficit tracking for a bit π HRV usually bounces back by day 4 or 5 for me. Worth a try before adding anything new tbh.
