IGF-1 LR3 + CagriSema combo logic, does it actually make sense on paper

So I keep seeing people talk about stacking IGF-1 LR3 with GLP-1s like CagriSema or tirz, and I wanted to think out loud about whether the logic holds up.

CagriSema hits appetite and insulin, IGF-1 LR3 is anabolic and also lowers blood sugar. On paper that sounds like you're pushing blood glucose down from two angles, which is exactly the kind of thing that ends badly in my own experience with IGF-1 LR3. I got hit with a real crash on an empty stomach once and it was not fun.

The other piece is muscle preservation during a cut. If you're dropping weight fast on a GLP-1, the myostatin inhibition plus satellite cell activation from the performance stack could in theory help. But the gut growth risk on IGF-1 LR3 plus slower gastric emptying from a GLP-1 seems like a combo I would be nervous about.

Curious if anyone has actually looked at bloodwork while running something like this, or am I just talking myself out of it. 😅

  • retired_coldplunge: The blood glucose thing is the part that would scare me too. I've never run IGF-1 LR3 with a GLP-1 but I've had hypoglycemic episodes from just the IGF-1 alone (work early mornings, sometimes fasted, dumb mistake). That crash is no joke, eh. The gut growth angle is something I'd want to see actual data on before touching it. Slower gastric emptying plus something that grows intestinal tissue, that just sounds like a recipe for discomfort or worse. Have you looked at whether the CagriSema dose c
  • tiredmira: Yeah the fasted crash on IGF-1 LR3 alone is exactly why I won't stack them, honestly. No amount of "scaling back CagriSema" would make me feel okay about pushing my glucose from two directions at once. The gut thing is what gets me too. I keep coming back to it. Faster tissue turnover in the gut while everything is moving slower because of the GLP-1, my gut instinct says that is a bad combination. Did your crashes happen at a specific dose or was it more about timing? I found mine was way wors
  • quiet_ironman: Yeah that crash from IGF‑1 alone knocked me out once too, scary stuff. I’d worry about the gut growth thing with CagriSema slowing emptying while IGF‑1 tries to grow tissue, sounds like a recipe for bloating or worse. Starting with a tiny GLP‑1 dose and very slow IGF‑1 ramp, plus checking glucose often, feels like the only cautious way to try it. 🔬
  • tiredmira: Yeah, the bloating concern is what keeps me from actually trying it tbh. Slowing emptying while IGF-1 is telling intestinal cells to grow just sounds like asking for trouble 😅 I did track glucose pretty obsessively when I ran IGF-1 solo and the crash came out of nowhere, so I am not sure "checking often" would have caught it in time honestly. Did yours happen fast too or more of a gradual dip?
