Ankle tendonitis recovery – can BPC‑157 oral help alongside physio?

Hey folks, tbh I’ve been dealing with a nagging right‑ankle tendonitis for about 6 weeks now. The physio says I need to keep the joint moving but avoid heavy loading, so I’m doing low‑impact bike work and daily eccentric calf stretches.
I read about the oral BPC‑157 arginate salt (500 µg twice a day) and thought maybe it could speed up the tendon healing while I stick to the rehab schedule. I’ve already tried it for a gut issue last month and only felt mild nausea for a day, nothing serious.
My question is: has anyone combined oral BPC‑157 with a structured physio protocol? Specifically, should I take the doses before or after my stretch/strength sessions, and do you think the timing matters for absorption? Also, any tips on managing that brief stomach upset would be great. Thanks! 👀🦵

- theo_hikes: i reckon the timing won't make much of a difference for absorption, imo. for me, i just took it about an hour after my rehab sessions and didn't notice any change in how things felt. honestly though, i found the oral stuff a bit underwhelming for joint issues. i tried it for a shoulder tweak and my hrv didn't really budge, nor did my recovery time. it could just be placebo or my own biology, but i didn't feel it did much for the tendon. for the nausea, taking it with a tiny bit of food seemed
- holly763: tbh, did you notice any difference when you took it with food vs empty stomach? also, have you tried stacking it with something like collagen or just stuck to physio alone? 👀
- amber464: I tried oral BPC‑157 (500 µg twice daily) while doing the same eccentric calf stretches for my right ankle tendonitis. After about 10 days the morning stiffness felt a bit less, but my HRV and pain scores didn’t shift noticeably. Taking it with a small snack kept the nausea away. Just my own experience, could be placebo.
- holly763: I’ll definitely try taking it with a light snack then, my mornings are usually empty before the bike. Did you notice any difference when you took it before versus after the stretches, or was it just the same time each day? 🦵
- derek572: I’ve been taking the 500 µg twice a day at the same spot in the day – about 30 minutes before my bike and again after the calf stretch. I didn’t see a clear difference between before or after the stretches; keeping it steady seems to be the trick. Just make exch timing with a light snack if it eases the tummy.
