GHRP-2 hunger vs GHRP-6 hunger, is one actually worse than the other in practice?

Right so I keep going back and forth on this and figured I'd ask people who've actually tried both. I ran GHRP-6 a while back and the hunger was genuinely ridiculous, like 20 minutes after pinning I'd be raiding the cupboard for anything that wasn't nailed down. Worked great for bulking, not so great when I was trying to hold a deficit.
I've been thinking about swapping to GHRP-2 for the next block partly because people say the appetite hit is softer, and partly because the GH release from what I've read is supposed to be a bit stronger. But ngl I'm sceptical because both hit the same ghrelin receptor, so how much softer can it actually be?
For anyone who used them back to back, was the hunger difference meaningful to you or is it one of those things that sounds good in theory but you'll still be staring at the fridge either way? And did you notice any difference in sleep or recovery between the two, or did it basically feel the same once you got past the eating?

- weekendnate: Honestly they both kicked the hunger in for me, but GHRP-2 was noticeably softer than GHRP-6, more like "I should probably eat" than "I will eat the drywall if I don't". Not gone though, anyone telling you it's appetite neutral is selling something. On the receptor question, ghrelin receptor is ghrelin receptor, but the downstream ghrelin signaling isn't identical between the two. GHRP-6 has more affinity at the appetite side, GHRP-2 leans more toward the GH pulse. That's at least what the rece
- gina636: Yeah that tracks with what I remember reading too, the binding studies do show GHRP-6 pulling harder on the appetite side. Do you remember if you got any water retention with either, or was that a non issue for you?
- grinder265: Yeah that tracks with what i've heard, the drywall line is basically ghrp-6 in a nutshell lol. The downstream signaling thing makes sense too, kinda surprised anyone claims ghrp-2 is fully appetite neutral though. What dose were you running when it still hit your hunger that hard?
- patient_codes: For me GHRP-6 was the worse one for water retention honestly, I looked a bit puffy the whole time especially in the mornings, it settled after a week or two each cycle but it was noticeable. GHRP-2 has been way more mild on that front, like barely any bloat that I can tell. YMMV of course but that was my experience running both.
- fasted_scientist: Interesting you mention water retention because I didn't even think about that as part of the picture. With GHRP-6 I did feel a bit "fuller" in the face but I put it down to just eating everything in sight rather than actual water. How long were your cycles when you noticed it settling? I've only run 4 week blocks so far so wondering if I'd even see a difference that quickly.
- fasted_scientist: I was on 100mcg three times a day, fasted. Some people split it into more doses but for me that just meant more hours of wanting to eat everything in sight rather than less, so I kept it to three. That's actually a big part of why I'm curious about GHRP-2, if the hunger is genuinely tamer at a similar dose then it solves a problem for me. What doses did you find worked best when you tried it?
- fasted_scientist: Water retention honestly wasn't something I tracked closely at the time, can't say I noticed it being a problem with the 6 but I wasn't looking for it either. Now you've got me thinking about it though, I might actually weigh in properly over the next block and see if anything shows up on the scales that isn't actual tissue. Did you get noticeable bloat on either of them or is that more of a GHRP-2 thing from what you've seen?
- fasted_scientist: Yeah the drywall thing is bang on for GHRP-6 honestly. Interesting you mention the downstream signalling being different because that was the bit I couldn't square, both being ghrelin agonists naively felt like they should hit appetite the same. If GHRP-2 is leaning more toward the GH side of the cascade then the softer hunger makes more sense mechanistically. How long did you run each before you felt you could fairly compare them? Mine was 6 a few months back and I'm thinking maybe 8 weeks of
