The ArmDoc wrote a pretty balanced piece on what BPC-157, TB-500 and the rest actually have behind them, and where the gaps are. He walks through the rodent work, points out we are mostly working off animal models, and is clear about what is anecdote versus what is evidence. Worth a read if you are tired of the usual bro-science hype.

What I liked is he does not dismiss it outright either. He acknowledges the mechanistic reasons these peptides could help with tendon and soft tissue, but keeps hammering on the lack of proper human trials. My own experience with BPC on a grumbling shoulder lined up more with the "felt like it sped early healing" camp than anything dramatic, so the cautious framing sits right with me tbh.

Anyone here actually read the deeper Sikiric papers he references? Curious how solid the methodology is once you dig past the abstracts.

The "feels like it sped early healing" thing is exactly where i land too, like i never had a wow moment, just less time feeling like my shoulder was about to click in a bad way.   • runner_aaron: Yeah, that soft outcome measure thing is what puts me off too. Like I never had a wow moment either, just felt like things settled a bit quicker in the first few weeks. The NO pathway stuff is what keeps me from writing it off completely tbh, there is at least a plausible mechanism there even if the rat models are dodgy.
  • patient_codes: Honestly yeah, that jump is what gets me too 🧠 the mechanistic story is genuinely cool, NO modulation and angiogenic signaling actually makes biological sense, but sense is not the same as proof, and I have def been guilty of being like "well the science makes sense so..." when really I just wanted it to work on my shoulder. What got you to keep using it anyway?
  • runner_aaron: Ha, that "science makes sense so" trap is real, I have fallen into it more than once. Kept going with BPC mostly because my shoulder stopped being the first thing I thought about in the morning, not because I was tracking some big metric. Honestly could just be time + physio doing the heavy lifting. How did yours eventually settle, did you stick with it long enough to feel a real shift or did it just kind of fade into the background?
