NYT piece on Altos and cell rejuvenation, the hype is strong but I'm curious

NYT Magazine just dropped a long read on Altos Labs and the whole "rejuvenation" biotech wave, where they've apparently taken skin cells from 90-year-olds and made them act young again in the lab. The piece basically asks whether all this Yamanaka factor stuff is finally gonna translate into something real for humans, or if we're just chasing cellular fountain of youth vibes forever.
My honest take is that this stuff always reads way cleaner in a dish than it does in an actual person. The article leans pretty optimistic but I kept thinking about how partial reprogramming has been hyped for years and we still don't have a single approved therapy from it. Cellular age reversal in a petri dish is cool, but getting that to do anything useful without causing tumors is a whole different ball game.
I do think the funding finally showing up at this scale matters though. Anyone here following Altos or similar groups, do you actually think we'll see a real human trial with meaningful endpoints in the next five years, or is this still firmly in the "interesting but distant" bucket? ๐ฅ

Yamanaka factors in fibroblasts look amazing on a marker panel, then you start worrying about teratoma risk and the whole thing stalls.
