Reconstituting BPC-157 with bacteriostatic water, is 2ml the right amount for a 5mg vial?

Hi all, brand new here and to peptides in general. I've read a few threads and I think I've got my head round the maths but wanted to double check before I commit to anything.

So I've got a 5mg vial of BPC-157 and bacteriostatic water. My plan was to add 2ml of bac water, which from what I understand would give me 2.5mg per ml, so 250mcg per 0.1ml on an insulin syringe. Is that maths right? I see some people doing 1ml or 3ml instead and I'm not sure what the actual difference is beyond ease of measuring.

Also how long does the reconstituted stuff actually last in the fridge? Some sources say 2 weeks, others say up to a month. Does the bac water matter there?

Sorry if these are daft questions, just trying not to mess it up on my first go. Any pointers appreciated.

  • practical_optimizer: Ok math checks out, 2ml into a 5mg vial gives you 2.5mg/ml so yeah 250mcg per tick on a 100 unit syringe. Basically people just pick whatever volume makes the dose easy to draw, no magic to it. Thinner syringe markings on a 1ml reconstitution can be annoying for tiny doses, 3ml spreads it out more, whatever floats your boat 👍 Shelf life is one of those things everyone argues about. I keep mine in the fridge and try to use it within a few weeks, the bac water is supposed to help but honestly no
  • tired_lifter20: Cheers, that's really helpful. So I'll stick with 2ml then since the maths checks out and the dose feels comfortable to draw. The fridge thing is where I'm a bit stuck tbh. Couple of weeks or a month is a big difference if I'm only using it a few times a week for a tendony wrist thing. Does it actually degrade or is it more of a sterility worry with the bac water?
  • grinder265: Yeah the math is fine, 2ml works. Ngl i usually go with 1ml on a 5mg vial so the concentration is higher and im not pushing like 20 units on the syringe every pin, way easier on the hands. Bac water keeps it stable for a while in the fridge but yeah once its cloudy or hazy its done.
  • tired_lifter20: Cheers for confirming the maths, that's the bit I was most nervous about tbh. Interesting point on the 1ml, I hadn't thought about how fiddly it gets trying to draw up 20 units. Might do 1.5ml as a compromise so I'm not wrestling the syringe but still keeping the concentration decent. Quick one though, have you actually had one go cloudy on you before, or is that more of a "watch out" thing? Wondering if I should be eyeballing it every time before I pin or just trusting it if it looks clear.
