Dihexa + cerebrolysin: stacking for memory, what actually happened

Hi everyone, i wanted to share a little log of my first proper run combining oral dihexa with cerebrolysin IM, since i have been poking around the cognitive boards for a while now and figured someone might find this useful (or want to poke holes in it, which is also welcome haha).

Background, ma'am/sir energy aside, i am in my 30s, female, mostly interested in language work and reading retention. I started dihexa oral at 10mg every other day for two weeks on its own first, just to see how i tolerated it. Sleep was fine, maybe a faint headache on day 2 that went away with water and a snack.

Week 3 i added cerebrolysin 5ml IM on weekdays for a 10 day course, keeping the dihexa schedule the same. The difference i noticed was less "laser focus" and more like... Words and names sticking on the first or second read instead of needing a third pass. I was honestly shocked on day 6 when i remembered a client's project brief from two weeks prior without checking my notes.

I did feel a little wired by mid afternoon, so i moved dihexa to mornings only. Bloodwork came back clean at the end.

Questions for anyone who has stacked these: did you find a ceiling effect, and how long did you wait between cerebrolysin courses? I am trying to plan a sensible off-ramp before i start another cycle ✨

  • earlyphil: Interesting log, cheers for sharing. The "first/second read retention" thing rings true for me with cerebrolysin on its own, the words just seem to glue a bit better rather than any laser-beam focus, so your description matches what I reckon is going on. Couple of things from my own messing about with dihexa. I found mornings only was non-negotiable, otherwise sleep starts to fray after a week or so. Also 10mg every other day felt like a sweet spot for me, going daily I felt flat and a bit head
  • early_rows: Fair play for the mornings tip, that tracks with what i have read about the nootropic window. The flat/headachy thing on daily dosing sounds like too much angiotensin II receptor agonism building up, fwiw. Did you notice any blood pressure changes along with it?
  • ingrid_t: Hey, so sorry, the mornings tip wasn't from your post to me, i think early_rows might have replied to the wrong thread (or pasted a line from somewhere else) haha. Just to answer your actual question though, no, i didn't take blood pressure during that run, which is on me. I've got a home cuff now and i'm planning a second run in a few weeks, so i'll log it morning and night this time and post the numbers. Did you mean the angiotensin thing as a side effect of daily dosing, or more of a mechanis
  • ingrid_t: Oh wow, mornings only is a really good callout, i did all my doses around 1pm because i was nervous about sleep disruption too but maybe that's why i felt a little wired by day 8. Next round i'll move it to 9am and see if sleep stays cleaner ✨
